Hacking Difference Screenprotectors Liquid Crystal Filter

hey everybody,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out, what is the difference between these things.

The first and last 2 seem the same to me, except they have different prices? but it doesn't say what is the difference, they all have same descriptions.

Is it wise to buy screenprotectors and which one would youadvice?

Well a link to the store might have been handy. Oh and please don't bump posts after such a short time.

As for differences (asides from the fact that the top two are for the DS Lite and the bottom two are for the DS). Maybe the cheaper of the two are say the US version, and the more expensive ones are the Japanese or the European version, or vice versa.
More likely the store is just messed up and unreliable, oh and there are fakes out there (which could be the cheaper ones), who knows!

Hori as far as I know, have only made two types of screen protectors the regular ones and the "Crystal" ones, for the DS and DS Lite.

Go order from somewhere decent like play-asia.com or lik-sang.com, they have genuine ones on there at a reasonable price. =)

Is it wise to buy screen protectors? Well I don't think they're all that necessary; the touch screen itself already has a protective layer of plastic above the screen and that is very tough, though if you want to play any stylus intense games such as Ouendan! then you might be wise getting some so you can play without fear of ruining the screen!

As for which screen protectors to get, there's a big thread about this here. The Hori ones are more than good enough and I'm very happy with mine, though some people go to the extreme and splash out on more expensive solutions like invisibleSHIELD. The Hori ones are easy to apply, great quality and don't cost the earth either so I'd recommend them.

The difference between the first 2 I really couldn't tell you. I had the exact same dillema, looked at the decriptions, pictures, everything, couldn't find a difference. In the end I just got the cheaper one, and if I don't like it I'm out $5 and I'll pick up the english version of the hori from fry's electronics for $6.

I think the first link is fake version of the Hori. It didn't mention (Hori) on the title like it did on the second, which I can assume to be the original. And I suppose you can say the same for the phat DS ones.

edit: On the phat, the original states, "NDS HORI original safe-guard," while the fake one "NDS HORI 1:1 safe-guard."

Just take a look at the product features on the first "fake" one

So if it was a fake it would just be a blatant lie.
The product features, decription and pictures (as far as I can tell) are exactly the same. Perhaps the second one comes with 2 pairs of screen protectors as it is almost twice the price but I really couldn't see them knowingly lying to their customers. I'll let you guys know when I recieve mine though

From the looks of it, they just copied and pasted it. The cheap one has real photos, while the more expensive one has stock photos. So it is most likely fake judging from my ebay experience. But yeah, it will be great once you've received your's.

Well, I don't know about the first and last protectors but... The difference between the Hori screen protectors for the original and the ones for the DS Lite is that the DS Lite version claim to have an extra layer for smoother stylus action.

I tested them both and the DS Lite version does seem to be slightly smoother but I can't be sure.

Well, I've got an update. Bad news for me but hopefully good news for you. I just recieved my G6 lite, passcard 3 and hori screen protectors in the mail today and it seems that the DSL 1:1 does appear to be the same fake one that showed up in this thread. I'm a little disapointed but like I said, I'm only out a couple bucks and I'll go pick up some legit ones a little later on today. And the instructions will be in english, hurray!
