Cfw basically killed Gateway because GW doesnt support fw above 9.2 yet
Sky3ds is more valuable, it can even be used as cubic Ninja

tbh the past 4/5 gw updates have just been updates to add the multirom menu back as nintendo updates (no point releasing updates if you have nothing to update for)....im thinking they should just make a rom selector cia file so if/when they drop out of the game their customers can still at least use the card with newer emunands instead of having to wait for n update.....at least until emunand is broken completely

It's not that easy, since it patches the system to allow the GW cart to work and so if those patches stop working then even with a CIA to select games you still won't be able to play them.
They would have to change their patches to dynamically search for the correct addresses to patch and load FIRM externally to make it truly version independent.

They probably have a 9.3+ exploit already, but won't release because the new launcher.dat will get decrypted and obfuscated within days and subsequently the CFW's will get ported to it and, well, we know the rest of that story. The 3DS hacking scene has just about matured enough to say bye-bye to hardware solutions.

Let's hope our 3DS flashcard makers will fall victim to their own guilt and do a source code release, in the same way cobra team did back in the ps3 days.

Aren't CFWs also limited to 9.2 and below?
AFAIK you can't run any CFW if you are above 9.3 ATM.

Meh, even if I doubt they have a 9,3+ kexploit too, they actually have plenty of reasons to not release it immediately after they discovered it. Improving the exploit's stability, for example (Gateway is supposed to be the more n00b proof solution available, and it's the only positive thing they have compared to CFW), waiting that Nintendo eventually patches it to support the higher FW possible, making it in a way that can prevent clones to use it (brickway) or people to RE it easily...

Or they're still trying to figure out how to apply DRM to it. After that, they'll be posting updates once per day most likely.

Erm..

We can:
1. Use gateway to install Devmenu/BBM/BRM/FBI
2. download all the CIAs we want
3. Update Emunand for most existing features
4. .cia users don't have to be worried about being online banned [don't have sky3DS header issue]
5. If Emunand e-shop access is blocked, simply use HANs (or Download the updates.cia as per Point 1)

And as indirect add-on points; for those who could use GW and decided to stop using them for whatever reason, these users can:
6. use HANS through browserhax (then themehax/homemenuhax)
7. Or use RXtools
8. Can region change emunand (with secureinfo swap)
9. OR use NTR new cia boot method, and change region of our games
10. do some funny configuration to get their MT card working again ><
11. Do bluecard time warp so that they can use their older DS flashcarts

In the mean time, Sky3DS is slowly getting blocked out.
And if you updated beyond 9.2 thinking your Sky3DS is your Holy Solution, you're F***ed

I mean, those who need Sky3DS for Cubic Ninja (because >FW 9.2), are more screwed than GW users
(Yes, there have been bricks [peace upon those 3ds], but it's statistically small)

They're probably busy trying to rip off all the fun things about present CFWs,
and make it their great new GW4.0 Debut.

Cheats, region changing, layered FS for rom hacking, replacing H&S app.
etc. etc.

And who's going to decrypt and deobfuscate it? At best it would take a long time for that to happen, in the meantime Gateway is making $$$.

Personally, I think they are dead nonethless. They didn´t posted any interesting thing in months... Probably wasn´t worth because the sales may be dropped
