I'm asking would there be a setting in Devolution to remember that you'd like to run that Gamecube game in 480p without a message popping up evertime?

Edit:

Nevermind, found out the Wii already does this on it's own. Pretty cool since the original Gamecube you had to hold b evertime you start the game.
You are correct. The Wii does automatically use stored system settings for interlace or progressive scan mode. However, it may be worth noting that recent revisions of DIOS MIOS Lite override the system settings, making it so that you have to deliberately disable progressive scan mode if you want to use 480i. Personally, I'd prefer that Gamecube games simply recognize the system settings.

Question:
Will Devolution have a GUI like Configurable USB Loader or USB Loader GX with box cover art for GameCube games?
And will Gamecube games load any faster from USB drive compared to disc drive?
[member='tueidj'] isn't making a GUI but he's making it in such a way that someone else could make one for it. I suppose CFG and USBGX could also use it directly.
Typically thing load faster from USB but that always depends on your hard drive.
Yeah, tueidj never said anything of the sort. This is what he said that you may have gotten confused by.
The text based loader shown in the youtube videos should not be counted as part of Devolution, all it does is write the desired game ID to memory then launch the "real" app.

Does that mean Devolution could be intergrated into GX and CFG?

I asked the question if he would provide usefull info to build a gui frontend. It never got answered.
Yeah, I guess he hasn't actually revealed the structure of the "memory blob" he uses to pass the information to the "real app".
I'll put it this way then:
"I speculate that this will make there be SOME way to build a GUI front end and that [member='tueidj'] will be nice enough to share that information."
(I don't see that he would have to give out any actual source code to do so nor do I see it allowing anyone to bypass his security features)

Honestly, I could see it as that way, but I sort of took it as a statement that "the whole is more than the sum of its parts". I took it as being that the loader UI isn't necessarily pretty or full of eye candy, but it does what it's supposed to and does it damn well. The core of Devolution, however, is (obviously) worth more than the simple game loader, which is where the real worth of the project comes into play.

Granted, this is all just speculation. ;)

"good information" because it would be good if it were possible.

or if by "3D" you of course mean the way that Mario 64 was in 3D and Mario World was not
and if you're idea of "full HD" is 480p running full screen and not in a window on the screen then you might be right.

USB has already been confirmed. the "GC games" part, too :P
The ability to play by just holding the wiimote sideways would be interesting, though. I just don't know how that would be pulled off.

EDIT : maybe if they port it to the PS3 . . . that would be cool ... although difficult.

He's joking.

I'm only halfway serious with this idea I keep mentioning, but if BroadOff could make one of the PS3's processor cells emulate Starlet Devolution on the PS3 would be cool. :P We'll call it WiiS3.

It wouldn't be starlet alone, but Hollywood (PowerPC,GPU,cache, instructions), also the system bus (btooth,USB,Wifi, sound). The problem with Wii, is every chip it has, they're kind of unique in coding, now mix up everything and you've got a good mess xD

Yeah, the PS3's got the PowerPC, USB and Bluetooth but I'm sure it's all connected together differently and the rest is just completely different. You would have to port parts of Dolphin to emulate those or something.

I kinda think it's still somehow possible but even then it would be a LOT of work, something few people would actually try undertaking, a "good mess" as you put it.
