If you have 100% saves then what's the problem with starting over? I mean, your saves are already 100%, what else is there to do other than start over and play through it again anyway?

Three words:
Dozens of hours.

That's the problem with starting over, and not even mention the shit load of Pieces of Heart in Majora's Mask to be obtained.

I have tried switching back to 480p (Standard definition) with HDMI and the game is still not booting, I still have to try with the usual component cables to see if it boots. Also, some hacked roms I tried to run in GenPlus GX did not boot at all too, while they boot in a normal Wii.
I am guessing there is some compatibility issue with HDMI so far with Devolution (and GenPlus GX), or maybe just the console itself since there is not audio or video output.
Will try with 480i once I get my hands on the component cables.

That doesn't make any in-game difference if your saves are already 100%...

Nevertheless, it's not like that save data will go missing. Do you not still own a GameCube or Wii? Heck there's even Dolphin. Those combined with GCMM means you'd never lose your save data.

They don't make the difference but at least I can still play one of the other files from scratch without losing my 100% save. The work put in there is quite exhaustive, and certainly no one wants to lose a work of many hours, being it game related, job, school, etc. That's the point.

Anyway, I still my saves backed up in my SD of course, only thing is that the damn game doesn't boot XD
It's nagging my head a lot!

And does said slowdown happen in Devolution on a normal Wii?

Not that I noticed so far.
There are still some issues that differ from a normal Wii to the vWii.
Also, I don't know if it is just Devolution or Wiiflow that is giving me the issue, but I can't make any Ocarina codes to work in any NGC game, while in the Wii games they load fine.

Must check, isn't there a way to force 480p with Devolution?
Cause i was going to play Master Quest, and thought, Devolution was going to be the hero of the day,
but sadly the 480p is a big turn down for me, as 480i doesn't look nearly as good.

There is an option to run the game as PAL, NTSC and the options of 480i or 480p, but I haven't seen any noticeable difference so far.
Try it out and let me know, please.
Are you running Master Quest from the NGC disc on a normal Wii or vWii?

There is?
Or well, i found in Wiiflow that i could change, but it doesn't do anything, at least not on my PAL version, i think it forces 480p, then when the game loades, i "resets" the mode to whatever the game source is, which is 60hz for that game.

I am running master quest from an iso file (from my disc rip) on Normal wii, from Wiiflow with Devolution.

I'm also using Wiiflow and hace that same thing happening to me with certain games.
Haven't you tried with the NTSC Game? I'll try using another game loader too

Also, I don't know why but I can't activate any Ocarina codes using Devolution from Wiiflow, any help with that?

So you can force in some games with Devolution?

Don't own the NTSC Game, so sadly can't do anything, i have stockpiled some GC games, and all are PAL as i live in a PAL country.

No idea, never used any "Ocarina" codes, no idea what they are, guess it's cheat codes of some sort.

Apparently, you can force them, but I Haven't tried doing it since all my games are NTSC. So we are kinda in the same spot.
Just be sure to try it out with Wiiflow's settings.

Ocarina codes are exactly that, cheat codes. But I don't know why the codes don't activate in Devolution even when Wiiflow downloads them correctly and such.

Well, at least you got the "Originals", PAL on GC are either 50hz (20% slow down) or 60hz (Yahoo;D!), without Progressive ( damn..).
Guess i will try other games later, but as Master Quest doesn't work (Or well that game at all for that matter, as the Menu is in PAL 60hz Interlaced), i don't have high hopes.

I usually use DiosMios, but Devolution seems better, and more, stable. And it supports Audio Streaming, but well there is always something that's blocking the path to perfection.

Maxternal I'm sure I skimmed over it because it didn't apply to me at the time, but it does now, so is there a mod of the devo loader.bin that can map the buttons correctly? I just got a mayflash, and the gamecube controls are off.

I made a couple of attempts at it (although I don't own a classic controller myself) but for some reason they didn't quite work right ... and I just haven't gotten around to making another attempt at it.

I'll probably make another try here soon, now that you've reminded me of it.

I seem to recall somebody else taking a crack at it too.

So, throwing this out there... anyone happen to know what would cause a "fatal error" using the Devolution sample loader after inserting the retail disc? According to the wifi log, after finding the wifi channel, it issues an HCI command and waits for the disc to be inserted. After inserting the disc, the log says "fatal error", the drive blinks 10 times, and it either hangs or resets.

Yes, don't remember who or where to find their version, but their version had the option always set. I wanted to have that OPTION added to my mod that had an options menu and compatibility with DM(L) folder/ISO placement AND to the WiiFlow plugin.

Is it possible to modify a verified Iso?

Meaning, perhaps make a PAL game progressive after the original has been verified?
I know that you can trim, which alters the iso, but not the files, so perhaps it is possible to patch it.

I don't think that's possible. The problem is that, AFAIK, there is no wiiscrubber-like program for GameCube games which would allow you to delete and/or modify only a single file at a time. Instead, in my experience, if you want to alter any files you first have to extract all of the files, change what you want, and then re-assemble the files into a newly-created ISO.

And because it's a newly created ISO, Devolution realizes that it's a different disc and won't verify it.

In the mean time, if your Wii is set for 480p and you run a game in Devolution that only supported 480i, does the Wii change its video output back to 480i? (this never was clear to me and I personally cannot test it)
