Does this mean I can't get the ISO "elsewhere" and use my retail disc to verify it? I have my original discs, but some of them are too scratched up to make 1:1 dumps. I don't have many GC games anymore anyway, so it doesn't matter that much, but I'm just curious.

if its a 1:1 dump you "obtained" it should varify with your disc.
Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was disc-specific.

if its a 1:1 iso of your disc, why wouldn't it work? discs don't have serial numbers :P

Actually, Gamecube games DO have serial numbers on each individual disk, but that serial number is not contained in the binary ISO.

So anti piracy, but implementing functionality with gba emulators. 'kay.

Don't want to get off topic there, but I just found it a little.... odd to say the least.

yeah yeah, i meant the data on the disc, not the disc itself :P

What's so odd about implementing GBA functionality? It was a Gamecube feature.

I think his point was, that a gba emulator open the door to piracy. If tueidj made his own gba emulator that required a verification with your gba cartridges, which would be on-par with his anti-piracy measures in his gamecube emulator, then it would make sense.

But those aren't his emulators, they're by choice of the consumer to use, he doesn't care about the AP on those, while you need Devolution's AP to get those GBA emulators kicking with his loader. Anyway, GBA emulators these days support Joybus connectivity by local IP address, he's trying to revive every possible feature the Gamecube had, so PC's that are using VBA-M or VBALink can input the Wii's local IP while the Wii is searching for those emulators, while that's only a speculation, I think this is what tueidj's purpose for this feature is. I'm also trying to contact multiple Android Developers that are working on GBA emulators and talking them into adding Joybus connectivity so people can use their phones as GBA's specifically for Devolution.

I hope the real GBA GCN link cables will cooperate with the joybus emulated GBAs as well. That'd be a neat feature as well(Yes, I realize real gbas already work with devolution, but it'd be cool to mix and match emu gbas with real gbas).

Congrats, this news are awesome.

I briefly check the whole threat and didnt really get if this magnificed piece of software loads the iso files from an USB NTFS partitioned drive, just one partition (3.5 2tb if someone just happend to meet this scenario).

Again, to the author, dude this is awesome.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 runs with rendering issues. Compared to disc (in GC mode), it does appear that the higher clock speeds in Wii mode are helping the frame rate somewhat. The game feels more sluggish in GC mode, but reasonably smooth in Wii mode. I was particularly curious about this game because reviews mentioned that it had low frame rate issues.

Here's a picture of the top and bottom of my Rogue Squadron disc:

No serious scratches are visible and the hashes perfectly match the database.

Here's the CleanRip v1.0.5 dumpinfo.txt:
--File Generated by CleanRip v1.0.5--

Filename: GSWE64
Internal Name: Star Wars: Rogue Leader
MD5: 0BF391BEE90DA09D6042016D23E7A9B1
SHA-1: 4ADD0E2411C0940D5C30DD408677085427F80AA9
CRC32: E9D4823D
Version: 1.00
Verified: No
Seconds: 535
After ripping three times, probably ten or more attempts have been made to verify this game disc, but it always fails and locks up the Wii after five quick flashes. During the process a disc authentication file is created but blank. Other games authenticate and play normally. Rogue Leader works perfectly from disc and DIOS MIOS. This suggests a problem with the AP.

Has anyone seen a read error that says

Code:
An error has occurred.
turn the power off and refer to the
Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet
for further instructions.

I'd probably need a USB gecko to find out more, just wondering if anyone got it. Got this right after the disc verification for Mario Party 6. The disc light is solid and just this black screen with the above text. It resets back to HBC with the power button press.

On second try, I launch the game from the loader, the disc drive flashes twice fast, then the error pops up and the light goes solid at the same time.

Devolution (or at least i suspect devolution) corrupted my drive

Happens to me too...try using chkdsk /f Drveletter:

That didn't work for me when my SD card got corrupted, though.
okay, hope this cannot happen to someone's hdd....

hope all you want. It happened to me, and aparently to Anon
ok, thanks for the heads up.
Removing devolution, as this is unacceptable.

Wow I'm impressed @[member='tueidj']! Even though this is two months late, it's still impressive.

Sorry, I can't test it because I have no GC games.

so wait... what purpose exactly does this serve?
playing a game that needs to be in the disk drive anyway, and only on gc-compatible wiis, why not just play from the disk?

Hey, stop bashing the guy! The more you complain, the less he will be willing to remove the DRM.
Apparently, he made an amazing breakthrough for the Wii scene. I said "apparently" because I can't test it myself, sadly... I don't have any original GameCube games :(
So... he should be praised for his work, not bashed! :)

If you don't have any games, but you want to try Devolution, ask him politely... or don't ask at all! (just wait)
besides, you could just wait for Crediar to fix the remaining issues of DIOS-MIOS (mainly streaming audio)

Yes I too am having issues with AP additions to this app. I have 2 wii's, (5 kids) and over 100 legit titles, both of my wii's are chipped with WiiKey (to be able to play all region games via gamecube.) I am thinking why this is the reason I can't get any of the games to auth and I have all the original discs.... Very frustrating I may add, but I look forward to a fix!

Thanks,
TVO

have 2 wii's, chipped with WiiKey, can't get any of the games to auth, the original discs
can you try to disable the modchip?
SOME have a menu for that (no idea about wiikey)

Additionally I don't expect that one HDD will work on multiple wiis due to the AP
but I don't know whether anyone actually tried it
