It finally happened! GuyPerfect from the Planet Virtual Boy Community ( http://www.planetvb.com )
has started to work on a dedicated Virtual Boy Emulator for Nintendo 3DS.
I found this recent thread on their forums:
    http://www.planetvb.com/modules/new..._id=7067&forum=2&post_id=40232#forumpost40232

I was waiting for this for a long time. The Virtual Boy is a flawed system but it had some nice games.
Virtual Wario Land for example is a forgotten gem.

There are already two Virtual Boy emulation solutions for 3DS out there.
MednafenVB with retroarch or a port of Red Dragon. Unfortunately very incomplete and not able to play the official games in a good way.
Both solutions are slow. The VB requires 50fps. I think 3D was also a problem with at least one of them.

GuyPerfect is describing his project in great detail here:
    http://perfectkiosk.net/
I am a coding noob but it sounds quite solid.

R3D Dragon was quite nice, I wished it was continued...

3d functionality is one of the main goals of this project.

Well, a VB emulator on 3DS makes only sense if you can use the 3D screen in a propper manner.
Years ago I made MPO files from screenshoots of Teleroboxer and looked at them on the 3DS.
    It totaly worked out.
With the eye tracking in the new3DS it will be a very smooth way of playing the VB games... at least this is what I looking for.
Btw., there was a first project status report today on the PVP forums.

Well this was also one reason why the PVB community decided to start something on their own.

For all with a 3DS, here is a thread from quite a while back. It contains MPO files from Virtual Boy Games.
You can watch them on the 3DS in 3D to see how it could look like on the emulator

And here I was about to trade in my New 3DS XL for a New 2DS one XD
Damn, I really hope this emulator pull through and we can finally have proper Virtual Boy emulation in 3D using the 3DS capabilities to its full extent!

Well, everybody can donate on his Patreon page here:
    https://www.patreon.com/GuyPerfect

This will ensure that he can work fulltime on it.
This is a very rare case. Having somebody working fulltime on it will speed up
things quite much and we will end up with a very good emulator soon.

Usually it takes quite some time if it is just a side project.

The aim is full speed, means 50 fps.
    It seems doable.

    What means "only"?
This is the start of the project. This documentation is very accurate. A lot of stuff was not available so far.
    Very solid stuff.
GuyPerfect worked on the actual emulator core this week. Some first material should surface soon.

I meant to answer the above question how fast the Emulator is and that there is only documentation for now.

Any news? I always wanted an official Virtual Boy emulator, but Nintendo didn't cares.

Wouldn't call it dead just yet, Guy Perfect's last post on the thread was in the beginning of May. But I guess the last post with progress was at the beginning of April. While progress is a bit slow, it's only being worked on by one person as far as I know currently. Two months is a while without any progress updates, but it's too soon to call it dead.

If I had the money I would find this myself. I'm glad there is still hope
