Had a 3ds on 1.0 and done the update firmware to 5.1 with frozen cart.ive follow the 3ds guide to decrypt the browser put the files in the files9 folder but it won't open the browser.its say update via Internet.cheers

I want to install cfw.the firmware I'm on is 5.1.0 but when I click on the browser on the 3ds it's asking me to update..

You are doomed, this game shipped with a dummy browser and that is why it tells you to update... Find a gamecart which updates to 6.0.0 to 6.3.0 and a R4, or even better, update with a gamecart to 9.2 and continue to "Homebrew Launcher(Soundhax)".

You won't be able to use soundhax after cart update. Your options from the guide are now "Decrypt9 (MSET)" or "Homebrew Launcher (Alternatives)".

That's not true. Browser doesn't work but that's no problem because soundhax will work with a dummy browser.

Just follow https://3ds.guide/ It will get you on your merry way. Just make sure to read everrything carefully, and pay attention to what it's exactly telling you to do (I've skipped putting files in their proper place before, or even the entire file, just because I rushed a bit; take your time).

Just ignore the last number. That just says what browser version you have, 0 means no browser, just DL the lowest last number. You aren't doing anything with browser until you ctrtransfer in the 2.1 FIRM (with its browser) anyways. It should work afaik....

Huh .. so if he updated to 11.0 but has no 3DS Sound then he's screwed? I mean he could still use Stickerhax, OOTHax or the like but that requires another CFW'd system.

OP most likely has an old version of Nintendo 3DS Sound now.
