I didn't know where else to post this on here:

If I dump my own game with decrypt9 when Pokémon SuMo comes out, should PkHex work with it? I thought decrypt9 gets rid of card2 save area. Clarification and thoughts appreciated :shy::shy:

Assuming you can run homebrew you should be able to use either svdt or JKSM to export your saves from the cart. So you don't need Decrypt9 at all.

I've used JKSM on the current moon CIA and it works perfectly.

Off topic but can I ask what version of PKHeX you used and what you modified? I've been trying for hours and all I ever get is a corrupt save.

I am not sure if I can run homebrew. My N3DS has A9LH and Luma on it. What all do I need for PkHex?

That is perfect. All you need is is JKSM via and install it via FBI. You can get it from here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-jks-savemanager-homebrew-cia-save-manager.413143/

When you have it installed, just:
  1. select SD/CIA (When using CIA games) or Cartridge (When using cartridges), then
  2. select the game you want, next,
  3. select "Save Data Options", then
  4. "Export Save".
If the game you want doesn't show up on the list, just go back and select "Refresh Games", you should have to do this when installing new games.

It'll ask for a name, name it something you know, it'll create a folder in the folder JKSM on the root of the SD card with the save file inside. For Pokemon games the save files are named "main", no extension at all. Just drag the file "main" towards PKHex and it should open.

Be sure to keep a backup of the unedited save before attempting any modifications to it as you can corrupt, rendering your progress so far to waste.

To place the modified save back into the game, just select "Import Save".

Would all this work with Gateway? All of my games are on my Gateway in .3ds format

I don't know how Gateway flashcart works, unfortunately, as I never had one, but if it behaves like Sky3DS that acts as if it's a 3DS game is in inserted after selecting a game then it should work just fine. If so, JKSM should export the save just fine when you pick "Cartidge".
