Homebrew Suggestion Dark Souls mod for online play

I just saw a thread showing a way to play LAN games with others through servers (https://gbatemp.net/threads/official-switch-lan-play.520912/) and I would like to know if it's possible to mod games like Dark Souls to connect to an unofficial server and paly the game online even if the console is banned.

dark souls doesn't connect to lan network, it must be using online which mean you must connect to nintendo network.

I understand that, I am not talking about LAN. What I am asking is if it's possible to make a mod for the game that allows you to point it to a private server instead to the original server so you can play online even if the console is banned or modded.

Technically, it COULD be possible.
You'd have to write some sort of NSO & game-specific server emulator and run your Switch through a proxy that will redirect the connection (or use another method).
Or somehow mod the game to do something similar.
But I don't think anyones going to do this anytime soon for any reason.
Especially for a game that's readily available on other consoles and PC.
