Gaming Dark Bowser Battle Help!

Okay... I'ts not that I keep dying, it's because it seems impossible to vacuum up Fawful after you get Dark Bowser to spit him out.
I spent 2 hours the other day just trying to get him... Is there any special thing i have to do, because I am hitting X as fast as I possibly can.

EDIT: Sorry about this... If you don't know what game I'm talking about, it's the final boss battle in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

You're going to need to press faster, as long as he is on your half of the screen, you should be able to suck him up. Try using your index finger, that's what I do.

You can also press Y to use the vacuum. So if you were playing it would be like X,Y,X,Y. Press it with 2 fingers or hold it at an angle where you can press X and Y repeatedly with your thumbs.
