Just tried it, white screen D2CKey NTSC Wii.

like I said, 3 people on PSXScene have said they have the original and they dumped thier backup themselves, and it works fine.

I can’t help but to think that the wii is going to be even pickier when it comes to dl media. I would also assume that many burners are strained a bit more when burning dl discs, so the chances of a lower quality burn would be higher. Maybe it’s the iso that wiisos released. Mine is a self-made backup, but I should think they would be the same since the data is identical.

I'll help things out a little bit. I have a Japanese wii with a d2ckey. I bought SSBB and made a backup of it myself using the Japanese made sd dumper for dl discs (It took me more than a day to back up too...). Anyway, my self-made backup works. I occasionally get a freeze up upon loading the game, but usually it loads up fine when I reset the system. I’m curious about this white-screen problem, so I’m currently downloading the iso that everyone’s having problems with. Once I get it downloaded and burned (which probably won’t be for awhile, downloading is slow), I’ll report what happens (hopefully someone will have found a solution by then).

Hi all. I'm back. I burned the iso of the caravan release and... it gives me a white screen. Big surprise, eh. I tried loading with the original disc and swapping and I get a disc read error. I also tried loading with my own backup and got the same error after swapping. I'm gonna get the dvd5 release and play around with that a bit, see if I can't get anything working.

tl;dr - person that has original SSBB disc made own backup, d2ckey plays THIER backup, wont play caravan dumped Backup

And if everyone with a d2c wii and a d2c key were to use the .iso of the fellow who posted above me, then they would be able to run it?

ive heard of a spanish rls of DSB:X (spanish group, still the japanese game) that "works" with d2ckey, but... i cant find it, ive tried every torrent site i can think of and still nothin poppin up on jewsnet...

Like I said over at PSX Scene.......I haven't even dumped the game yet.

I also heard that I need some specific DVD drives to dump it....which I don't have. I will also need exact instruction on how to dump this....as I have never dumped a game before.

It seems like Nikkuchan will release his/her dump though, so we will see...

in a related (kinda sorta) story, Wiinja looks like its on the verge of a breakthrough playing SSBB thru a patch with the ISO. i think.

this COULD theoretically work with our d2ckey'd Wiis... you never know.

The winja2 fix for the 'white' screen error is to hard set the layer break to 2084960


author of the fix from the winja forums suggest it will fix other chips white screen too

It should work, according to Wiinewz users. Well, I was afraid to get a D2Ckey and wanted to wait for D2Pro, but D2Ckey still have a perfect record after all!
