The FlexPCB for D2CKey streamlines installation of D2CKey reducing the overall time spend fitting the chip. The FlexPCB is available seperately at additional cost.

Although installation with the FlexPCB is quicker, installation of D2CKey is still best left to professional, experienced mod chip installers!

This seems Wlip-esque. It sounds cool (I think?) but I'm really fuzzy on what it actually does. There's no diagrams or pictures of installation. Can anyone clear this up?

Well I havent found any info on it, but Im pretty sure that it eliminates the needs for all the 32 wires to be run and the guessing as to where exactly to position the mod chip for installation. The flex PCB IS the wiring and acts as a positioning guide and then you just solder to the d2ckey itself and then onto the wii chip after its placed in the other square cut out on the right side of the flex pcb. I just leave it at this: Get one if you are going to be getting a d2ckey!

That looks very good. If it really does make it easy, I'll buy one for sure

I did a little photoshopping.
An installed flexpcb would look something like this.
As it looks there are holes for the crystal and some smd-parts.

Sorry for the bad picturequality but there isn't a highquality picture of the flexpcb available.

they should just start selling the d2ckeys with the flexpcb's already attached so you just clip it on. even if they added like $10 to the price it would be worth it.

Yay 13 wires , much nicer than 31. No doubt some people will still bitch and moan cos it's on the ic legs. Chip it self is quite large though hopefully won't be too much of a pain to position.

Ugh - why don't the d2ckey people just get together with the Wlip people already. Or Wlip just put out a new version with all the appropriate pins wired by themselves.

Why would they?. D2Ckey works , they don't care if people who can't solder can't fit it. Teaming up with wlip would mean sharing profits.Besides that , wlip don't even have the other versions of their clip thing out. Maybe want to get that out first and make sure the damn thing works ok , before going for one that has to contact 31 points.

D2CKey may well be outdated soon anyway. Once the infuctus chip appears , assuming it works good , no one is going to go for 31 wires over the 13 of the infectus.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.
