I tried it using the FlexPCB... wat a horror show!
It sure helps saving time for cutting wires. but besides that the soldering is still first class hardcore

I have a D2Ckey and FlexPCB, but I still haven't got it working

The FlexPCB saves time for cutting the wires, but the soldering is still extremely hard!

If they setup the FlexPCB with the D2CKey without us having to do it, it would be awesome. Wouldn't have to go through the trouble of installing it and making it hard.

How would that help?. If it came attached the the d2ckey , you would still have to solder the other end of it to the d2c chip on the wii. If you can't handle the big points of d2ckey itself , then no way are you doing the tiny little points on the d2c chip.

I watched an installer doing the 2dckey and flex today on my sons' Wii.....for what its worth, I am sooooo glad i didnt try it...
The guy said his soldering iron cost $200, he had a handsfree magnifier and a lot of patience and ability...
He then checked his workmanship with a meter....all very pro....and, in my humble opinion NOT for Mr Average!!
Given the cost of the tools\materials etc required to do it properly, i felt whilst watching that ANYONE(layman) who has the nerve to attempt this is either sporting some BIG balls, or is deluded....

He also mentioned he makes good $$$$ fixing "home chip"jobs.....!!

It's a solder job, & I found it harder than the wires, I wouldn't say I'm a soldering pro by any means, but I have been soldering for 26 years, it's all too small for me

I buggered my Wii when I tried to solder in a FlexPCB, I'm not sure if I got the chip too hot or whether it was because the FlexPCB fell apart & left tiny bits of copper everywhere.

I think if I could have practiced on a few times I would have been OK. I think if the FlexPCB connections had been pre-soldered (tinned) it would have been an easier job. I used the thinist solder I could find (0.6mm) but when you try to dab a small amount on one pin it's spreads across three pins.

there's a movie of a guy installing the d2ckey with flexpcb, he also tins both sides of the flexpcb before putting it on the wii dvd drive.

I had the most problems routing the wires and keeping them down to the board.
So i hope the flexpcb will be alot easier for me

.6 is reasonable but you can get down to .3mm I have seen, thin ass stuff and would be alot easier to install the flex. Personally I use .5mm solder slightly better than the .6 but I would not install a D2Ckey in anyones wii with my $40 solder iron

I hope this means that D2CKEY will be easier to install in the future

The Argon is a better choice over the D2Ckey in my personal opinion. 13 wires over 30 odd.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
