Well the update from the alpha seems to be failsafe as it waits for the switch to turn on or off..

The only way I think the whole thing is messed up is if you cut power to your wii duing the update or you soldered the wrong points for the switch making it not be able to update (not meeting voltage requirement) or too much voltage so it'll fry your cyclowiz..
