Some of the more clever among you were able to read between the lines: we were hoping that by being a little (overly) provocative -in a humorous way though- we would be able to get things done. Well it turns out that the Cyclops team has responded once again to our messages.

Not only have they updated their homepage with an answer to our recent calls, but they have also released a new firmware for their CycloDS cart.

On our continued mission to listen our customers concerns and requests, we have noticed a few posts which touch on the issue of support for the existing Cyclo Evolution. We would like to reassure customers that the original Cyclo Evolution will continue to be supported by firmware updates in the future. Furthermore, updates for the standard Cyclo Evolution will be made each and every time(simultaneously) a new firmware release is posted for the iEVO. Team Cyclops are dedicated to supporting their current and future products. Users will be pleased to note that along with this news post we have also updated the downloads section with a new firmware for the EVO which fixes a number of prominent ROM's which users have been requesting lately.
Here is the short changelog for that 1.61 update:
QUOTE- v1.61 (22/12/2010)
* Numerous game compatibility fixes including 5267, 5284
Thank you for listening to us, Cyclops Team! This is a small victory for GBAtemp. Thanks to the popularity and the strength of this community we were able to get things to move. This is encouraging for the future, let's hope other teams give a damnlistening ear just like the Cyclops Team did!

Download the update from FileTrip.net

PS: they still haven't donated to the Homebrew Bounty, even though we believe the DSi bounty will contribute (in a limited extent) to starting the DSi homebrew scene. But let's consider ourselves happy with that new update already.

A new update great, now if only they updates the new g.u.i as well. but I guess an update is an update and its better then no update.

I wonder what will happen if their iEvo will flop. Will they show up at Costello's Mansion and shoot the place up?

you take what you can while you can because you never know whats up ahead.

better than nothing for cylo users i guess.

Costy, at least you tried to get them to lower their price.

Tis the thought that counts.
you didn't think we were gonna change a company's business model in a single news thread?

no, more seriously, there were a lot of complaints lately about the lack of updates, non existent rom compatibility support and all (check the cyclods forums and the posts asking for Golden sun support on the cycloDS).
the team didnt seem to care, so we had to send a strong message.
I think we've been heard now. It's good

This should improve their image/reputation

Costy's pet lion will pull out an AK47 and kill them all.

That's true. It always brings a tear to my eye to see a flashcart team listen to their customers in this day and age.

CycloDS is lazy, but not stupid. I don't think that they produced more than ~5'000 cartridges with the first batch.

The scene became very small lately.

I would love it if their cards became cheaper :/ I mean shit, every other card is cheaper, and some of the older cards went down in price like the Acekard...

But as long as it's above $35 [because I feel no card is worth that much because I just want to play games and not have all the features], they're not getting a cent from me.

5267 - Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (USA)
5284 - Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (Europe)

yes it's been fixed.

I wonder what took them so long with dark dawn anyway....when it comes to Pokemon games cyclods is usually among the first (if not the first) to get it working
but then again who doesn't love Pokemon....

Blaze isn't going to be happy; he went and bought Golden Sun just the other day.

So, this means that the Edge is still gonna be updated. Right?

Edit: Btw. TC's forums are back up. just with a message saying its down for maintenance. Atleast its not that chinese message that i wasnt able to read at all.
