Ok,

Chrono trigger still locks up under this FW. (for me at least)

When frog joints your party and you enter the hidden passage in the church, go left, defeat the 3 demons, go further left, you woill encounter 2 more demons, defeat them open op the boxes
Game locks.

Tested "with" cheat codes "ON" (leaving the bypass piracy code out) and "with" cheat codes "OFF" on a clean non patched chrono trigger rom.

Anyone else can confirm this ?
No lockup for me. Clean rom, no cheats. It didn't lock up there for me in 1.5b4 with the codes, either.

Try formatting your memory card.

Chrono Trigger no longer locks up but Star Wars is.. The game froze in the area where you hit a camera bot with a crane..

i thought the GBA support can now handle the M3 Real GBA Expansion Pak since it said "and GBA support (through the EZ-Flash 3 in 1 Expansion Pack or similar device) has been "dramatically improved"."
probably meant ewin pack

Regarding CT and SW locking with the new FW.....

At the TC forums they mention that you should NOT use the old save file for those games.

That said, SW has locked on me a couple times.....it seems kinda random now, but it also hasn't locked since I formatted my microSD and copied everything back to it.

I haven't gotten into CT yet.....if I ever do.....I don't have time for RPG's like I used to....but I imagine if you were playing it with the cheat code to bypass the copy protection and are now attempting to play it without the code because of the firmware update, the save is somewhat corrupted and contains some errant byte of data that says you are running a copy...or some such thing like that. I'd say your choices are to delete the save file and start over (groan) or just continue using the AR code, if possible.

I have been using my CT save since 1.5b4.. and so far, after installing this firmware and turning the cheats off, i did not experience any lockup or got "trapped" in the time travel sequence.. so i guess it's safe to say that they really fixed the compatibility with CT..

but, this is not the case with Star Wars as i did put it in my micro sd after installing the new firmware, hence a new save file was created with 1.5 final installed.. oh well, too bad for a visually impressive game..

but thanks for the heads-up rayder.. will try formatting my micro sd and see if it works..

Nice update. I've been enjoying the in-game text reader from the betas, and I'm glad they released a final so everyone can hear about it and use it without too much trepidation. Glad they threw the Chrono Trigger fix into the final as well.

Hmm, power saver, huh. Looks like they got to me first, you can see it on my project's video actually.

And damn, I wanna have a cycloDS cart. O_o It looks quite hot

Can someone outline how the "Save Mode: Alternative" is implemented? Is this a save folder created at the root of the micro sd in lieu of having the save files in the same folder as the ds roms? If so, does it need to be named some specific parameter?

Thanks,

David

That is correct.

The folder will be created automatically. The default name is "SAVES", but you can change it by editing the config.xml file.

Thanks for the quick response. This chip never ceases to amaze me. This update ended up being very substantive.

Yeah! A final version of 1.5. I've been waiting to try the final version. Gotta love the firmware updates. Keep'em coming!

i reckon it would be AWESOME if TC integrated moonshell in to the firmware so if you select the mp3 it plays without having toopen upmoonshell ormake their own media player that doesnt have a hacky feel to it.
