Hi,
Its a 2GB memory card stick due and after I fill about 1GB of it, I cant copy no more over it and gives me "DATA ERROR "cyclic redundancy check""

It was working great before so its not a fake. (dont give me that eBay stuff)

But if I copy data from the memory over it, it works ok and goes over 1.5GB (copying files that are already in the disk on other locations of same card)

I tried another machine, same error.

Is there any software to diagnose Memory Stick Due? and show possible bad sectors?

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I'm using PSP's USB CONNECTION itself to connect it to my computer.

I'd hate to state the obvious here but um... have you formatted the memory stick yet?

Try formatting it using windows too.

Press triangle on photo > Memory Stick and then press information.
Look for where it says magicgate:
What does it say there?

There's a few possibilities.

1. The memory stick is bad (Unlikely)
2. The USB port on your PSP is broken (annoying)
3. The cable is broken.

1.Why it was working Ok before?
2. tried other ports and other PC (hence it was USB 1.0, not 2.0), no luck.
3. replaced the cable too.

One thing happened, i used XCOPY command with /C switch and it copied everything to the max! but if the memory card is corrupted, the copied data is corrupted. The games open and playable but I donno if there is a problem lying somewhere there or not. How I can be sure if the memory is OK and that error is just an annoyance? its important since I borrowed this PSP and I want to return it at the state I borrowed.

*UPDATE*
even the CMD doesnt work anymore, it gives me the same DATA ERROR too.

Is there any software for memory cards to mark bad sectors?
