Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

I love the functionality but it seems that most themes are just background edits. So if someone would make an app that changes the background on your 3DS most themes would be obsolete. Not that I hate the themes but I wouldn't call them themes

I love the functionality but it seems that most themes are just background edits.

Not really since most themes have colors for all the different "buttons" and folder(s) on screen, some of them even have special textures if their creator adds them in, and sound effects too. Not to mention there's scrolling themes and the ability to make themes with floating animations like the ones on the stock home themes, or to make themes that have multiple frames for a make-shift type of animation.

So if someone would make an app that changes the background on your 3DS most themes would be obsolete. Not that I hate the themes but I wouldn't call them themes

Technically that can already be done, and it's called making a low effort theme that just has top screen and bottom screen images and nothing else. Themes wouldn't be obsolete because of it since people usually always want better.

One thing I've noticed is that provided templates have an incorrect measurement for the stock 3DS, idk if this applies to XL or not, but I got a different template where I physically measured the gap between the screens to get the image distance.

So here's the template I use for alignment. Not that big a detail but it drove my OCD up the walls to see that the other template provided somewhere on this forum had the two screens too close together :P

Inserting as a thumbnail as to not waste space.

Figured this would be the best place to ask, but uh does anyone know what happened here? Is the site gonna be down for good?
The site was moved to a .com domain, but even that's down. (522 Connection timed out error from Cloudflare.)
The last time the Wayback Machine archived it was on the 16th of June, 2019, and I can't seem to find any contact for the site owners.
I can't seem to get the listed Resilio Sync links or the torrents to work, and the only contact I can find with the creators is on Reddit. I'll try sending a PM, but the account looks dormant. Good luck.
