Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

Glad you like it. You have to get things to line up and I had to compromise a little to make it work with the source image. 1008x240 is what really gets used out of the 1024x256 image you make (1024x512 counting top and bottom) for each screen. I ended up shifting part of the bottom image over so that I could get a 40 pixel shift, taking into account the 16 pixels you have to help with that (so it should be that 24 pixels of the bottom were moved over and stuck on the right side). It created a slight break as you scroll to the edge, but at least the break occurs on where there's not much of anything interesting to look at. I guess the main thing is that everything else lines up right.

The pictures are amazing and with the mario sunshine music as well its just perfect, best theme yet! Thanks :)

Edit: if you want to change it m8 by all means work on it, let me know though ;)

A Mario Sunshine theme?
I messed around with making one just now. I was experimenting with taking a 1024x768 image I found and creating a panoramic theme that would line up on both top and bottom like the Link Between Worlds official theme is made.

This is what I've got so far:

New version of this theme with a different scene: Click Here

EDIT: Got the break fixed to look better

siiick. Can you add sound effects? You could put the sound when you warp into a paint mark, or perhaps a tube sound. i dunno. I was also reading documentation on theme structure. seems like arrows colors, etc. can be changed, too. You should look into it :)

So my Korra theme is done I dont like it too much though it does not look bad. Hope you atleast like it Glish The music on loop is the prologue from the series and I made it as loud as I could and made custom folders though they dont look too nice (in my view).

Made a new one, with different images. Thank you for the base though, it really helped me make this first theme. http://www.mediafire.com/download/5sbqel59rmy3bry/body_LZ.bin

I don't know what you guys are using to edit your images but you might want to look into free software like Paint.NET or GIMP. Not too hard to get a grip on and helps a lot when you need to put multiple images together or add effects like gradients, etc. These programs also handle resizing much better than the default Paint for Windows.

my cfw works on 9.4 emu.. and it's different from the leaked stuff a bit.
I suppose what I really wanted to know was if you're using a gateway, and if you're not, how you enter your emunand/CFW.

Edit: I know this is getting off-topic, this is my last post for tonight, its crazy late here.

Well it's still built on a 3 stage design like GW if thats what you're wondering. I enter it via mset
I tried to trace the GW 3.0 ROP and get it to work with the webkit exploit but no luck so far

I feel kind of dumb for assuming you were on a 9.2 3ds (again, crazy late), but thanks for the clarification. Good luck with your ventures.

heh, no worries.

To get this back on track a little. Heres yet another project I started lol. (i intend to finish this one though.)

That's really cool. I was hoping you'd do something like this.
Can you tell us more about the program? What you hope to achieve with it?
I hope it's open source.
From the picture it looks the same as Roxas75's though of course there's many things to improve from.

Well I coded everything from scratch (minus the few bits of code i borrowed from kaphotics(LZ11, z-curve functions, etc)), and I liked the idea of the theme simulator, but I wanted to make something that was a bit.. easier to use and more stable I guess. Essentially the plan is this thing will let you edit every aspect of the theme. you'll also be able to create themes from scratch. I started this as just a fancy simulator but its turning into a full blown editor, heh.
