Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

Xenon Hacks, let me know if you get the white space fixed without EFE like you were asking. Or did you try EFE anyway?

I opened the bin in EFE->Tools->Compression-> LZ11->Decompress. saved the body_LZ_dec.bin and opened it in EFE replaced the top image with a fresh one saved it opened the newly made body_LZ.bin with the batch file LZ11.bat (Make sure to unblock both files) and compressed it back. This fixes that white block....wow that was alot to type

heres a link for the bat file you need to compress the bin file http://www.mediafire.com/download/otc4cra4wwdw0sc/LZ11.zip

So the basic instructions are "try compressing/decompressing it 50 times with 50 different tools, each time replacing 50 new files, and see if it works"

I'm going to live with a little white spot in the corner that is mostly covered up anyway. ;)

I'm sure it will be fixed with an update in the future. :D

I've already done all of that and while it fixed one thing it broke something else. Thanks, though.

It made the cursor on the bottom screen (the little pulsating highlight when you move around the screen to select stuff) change colors and also changed the color of folders as they appear on the top screen when they're highlighted.

I have not messed with that stuff yet so I wouldn't know

Mine changed both light blue, hmm it must of changed some offset location data in the rgb hex variable somehow. Now if I could just figure out how to do that on my own :( .

For my lumine hall theme it made mine some kind of neon green I think and it's just not going to work with my purple look for that theme.
I'm wondering if Roxas75 will update his creator or if I will have to wait for the issue to be fixed in EFE first. Oh well either way I can wait. As JoostinOnline says the white space is not a big flaw (but the folder color is a big deal for my theme).

So my Korra theme is done I dont like it too much though it does not look bad. Hope you atleast like it Glish The music on loop is the prologue from the series and I made it as loud as I could and made custom folders though they dont look too nice (in my view).

You could check a few pages back they were talking about hex locations for folder colours and stuff you could also check page with all the theme hex offsets. I was able to modify 0x10 and 0x24 to change scrolling background to static so you should be able to change folder colours fairly easily if you can figure out the location.

I have been looking at the 3dbrew page at the offset locations, I just don't know exactly where and which way to change the hexadecimal and at what byte. I know how to convert RGB to hex values. I need to experiment with it more.

For anyone interested in making Home Menu default themes: http://pastebin.com/LELQhmpK

I guess that will be fun to mess around with filling in the colors to see how it changes things...I haven't tried anything with default themes yet.

EDIT: Just made one that turned out mostly blinding white with a green cursor, lol. Some slight yellow looking squares floating in the background of the top screen.

Was that what you were going for, or did I screw up somewhere lol.

One thing I'd like to understand, though, is how this can be so much smaller than the output I get when dumping a default theme.
It's because this will allow you to apply basic colors to all parts of the theme without any image or audio data included in the body_lz.bin, I take it?
