Hacking Custom Photo Channel

I tried replacing the images for the photo channel. I dumped the wad and unpacked it. I took the 00000001.app, renamed it to .dol and used Wadder to build a channel. It just seems to crash. Any suggestions on how I could get this to work?

You can do this if you have Photo Channel 1.1 from within the Channel.

You select one of the images you have on your wii/sd card to be the channel banner within the photochannel.
