TimeSplitters WiiU Anyone?
I hope not. I'd rather not have to buy a new console to play the sequel to my favorite game series.

So, you'd rather play it on the PS2, or on the GC ?

No, PS3/360/Wii.
I don't think there's ever been a Time Splitter for PS3/360/Wii, that's why I asked; personally I played all of them on the PS2 and GC.
Since the franchise has to make a jump to a next gen platform anyway, it might as well be on the Wii U.
Frankly, I think the Wii is underpowered at this point to make it justice.
There's never ben a TimeSplitters on any of the current gen consoles, what I was saying is, I don't want to have to buy the Wii U, just to play TimeSplitters 4, so I'd much prefer it if they just made it for the current gen consoles.

they are talking about performance only correct? how difficult is it?
would new devs come to make games on this? would present devs who already have great knowledge and game libraries ready for other consoles come to this?

its still something new and new games to come to it would take a lot of time just like the 3ds is doing so right now

Hopefully we see Crytek products on a Nintendo platform now, for the first time. I'm getting really tired of the current state of games being released on 360 and PS3 (and maybe PC) and the Wii just gets neglected.

I think the Wii U will get it's share now. That freakkin controller has two thumb sticks!!!

Am I just dreaming, or am I seeing a thread of people ACTUALLY praising the WiiU? I thought the day'd never come

Yeah and what I'm saying is that it's a useless cry ( no pun intended ) because when new systems come out, it's only natural to develop the latest games for it.
It's like wanting a Time Splitter 4 on the PS2 still (since the prequels were last gen ), ignoring that there is a PS3 out there.
Most likely, if there will be a TS 4 for the Wii U, it will also be available for PS360. If not, kudos to Nintendo for grabbing yet another exclusive...........
Either way, the Wii U will be a day 1 purchase for me !

No one is going to make it for obsolete hardware or consoles that will be getting replaced in a few more years, not worth the time investment which will probably be a couple of years development anyway.

At the moment they're not obsolete. They probably won't be for years.

N64 all over again? programming difficulties proved 3rd party being in a small chip last time
No, more like developers being lazy and wanting hardware designed exactly like a PC so all they have to do is port a game, water down the graphics and reconfigure the controls so they can cash in on their games being on multiple platforms. And people cried about the N64 because of cartridges, not because it was hard to develop for, seeing as how Nintendo was quite capable of putting out some of the greatest and most innovative games ever made on it.

I never said they were going to make a TS4 for 360/PS3/Wii, (Hell, there's no telling if there's even going to be a TimeSplitters 4) I said I'd prefer it not to be a Wii U exclusive.

Compared to a PC yes they are. Consoles are incapable of features that PC's running DirectX 10 have, not to mention big name titles are capped at 30 FPS so they can remove a lot of the great visual effects that PC games have and not get choppy frame rates. Compare any big name game on the PC to it's console counterpart and you will see how lacking the console versions are in terms of textures and visual enhancements. Look at Metro: 2033, it looks like absolute garbage on the 360 yet looks amazing even on high settings on a PC, the game isn't visually capped like it is on a console with a DirectX 9 graphics card in it. Console games are quickly becoming obsolete when in comparison with PC visuals, though they were close to the same up until about a year ago. RAGE will continue this trend, showing the obvious disparity between consoles and PC's in terms of graphics capabilities, it's only going to get worse for console fanboys who pretend to be graphics whores as well.

Because you know, Time Splitters 3 was on 4 different platforms....

Well that's a given. Console games will never catch up with the PC.

O RLY?

QUOTE“…it is unhappily true that we have these consoles here running at sixty frames per second, and we could have these massively more powerful PC systems that struggle sometimes to hold the same framerate because of unnecessary overheads. If we were programming that hardware directly on the metal the same way we do consoles, it would be significantly more powerful.”

And? Currently, the only next gen console to have been announced is the Wii U. Of course, if they made it for the Wii U, along with the current gen consoles, that wouldn't bee too bad.
