Hacking Create a Custom Channel from a System Menu wad?

I recently was able to install the "Insert Wii Startup Disc" system menu on my Wii. It worked fine, but re-injecting my NAND via bootmii boot2 was annoying.

I know there is Sneek/Uneek so I can test the menu on newer Wiis, but is it possible to create a custom channel from a Wii Menu wad file?

CustomizeMii requires a DOL file. I've noticed an option on ShowMiiWads that is labeled "Insert Dol", is this what I need if this is possible?
