My computer has crashed three times(blue screen of death) today I wanna know of a program that will tell me the cause of crash. Any help appreciated.
Do it anyways. The problem causing the crash is likely still there, just whatever was triggering it at that time isn't active. If you wait it's likely to happen again because you need to actually FIX IT. In order to fix it, somebody needs to examine the dumps.how_do_i_do_that said:DO NOT DO WHAT RYDIAN says about your minidumps, uploading them. Minidumps can also contain info on your system, incuding logins and passwords. Uploading them for anyone to view, you might as well just slap a sticker with stupid printed on your forehead.Tell me, what sort of program keeps usernames and passwords in KERNEL memory, which is what a minidump is? Or, could you explain how all of USER memory (which, by the way, is where programs run and passwords would be) fits into a 96 KILOBYTE dump file?
Here, here's one of my dump files.

Now, I know how to examine it and find it's an issue with the way my network drivers at the time were handling IPv6, but I'd LOVE to watch you get my usernames and passwords out of that file, so go ahead and show me how it's done!

This is the first I've ever heard of that, so I call BS. Cite a source (or grab the hash out of the file and I'll tell you if it's correct).how_do_i_do_that said:hash info for login into the system.
which can be brute forced if an attacker can remote access the system.
It is a security NO-NO.
