Hacking Crap 0.1b released

!!Currently only for experienced users... don't touch this if you don't have preloader or other unbricking measures already in place....

This is a very self contained utility so you only need to have .net runtime / openssl (libeay), wad unpacking & packing is all in the program. You also need a base.wad in the program folder and the well known common-key in the shared folder. Since it's illegal to distribute such content they are omitted in the distribution.

It doesn't use any command line tools... Also included is a slightly modded wiiscrubber that makes transferring of opening.bnr to the program easier. Included wii scrubber shares the common key with the channel creation tool.

Currently I only added support for YAL, but in the upcoming versions I want to make it much more customizable....

Usage :

A. Using isos
----------------
1. Launch included wii scrubber, open iso...
2. Find the opening.bnr file, right click and select Extract as channel option... It will launch Crap
3. Fill in the title id you want and click the create button, a wad will be created in the relevant disc id folder...

B. Using already existing banners
----------------------------------------
1. First of all you should create a folder with disc id in the program folder and name the banner file as the disc id as well... So first try using isos and you'll understand...
example : RSPE01\RSPE01.bnr
2. Select the banner file using the ellipsis button.
3. Fill in the title id you want and click the create button, a wad will be created in the relevant disc id folder...

I think Crap should be ported to the Wii.

Crap is useful when it isn't constrained and can roam anywhere Crap wants.

Plus, Windows stinks, and if you combine stink and Crap, it's not good.

Well this is no simple batch script or something that invokes other tools...

Like in my previous port of segher's tols (FE100), wad unpacking & packing is also made into a static library...

Advantages are : less dependent, much more efficient and you have complete control over the process

Your Wiiscrubber always give me an error:
Unable to open common-key.

But it is in the folder.

With another Wiiscrubber it works (key.bin).

At the moment it uses distributed dol only... meaning it won't work...

I'll add support for the rest in 0.2 version...

I wanna change the loader.dol to other many kinds of usb loaders (Wanin's , other customized wanin's, sorg's, Wiicrazy's, fishear's, etc )

Does this tool modify the banner in any way, or does it just rename it to 00000000.app and pack it in the wad? I've understood that some tools do, and that's why I keep using my über hacky bat-scripts still, since i don't like it fiddling with perfectly working banners.

If this was to just rename the banner, and allow for any loader dol (I know, v0.2) with titleid set to CHANGE or whatever you want, I'll swap to it in a second. Keep up the good work!

Well this one keeps the banner intact... First I tried to do modifications on the banner like changing channel name but failed and later disabled the feature... (hence that disabled Channel Name text entry in the screenshot)

Tool just unpacks the base wad, copies the banner and the patched dol and packs the wad with the given title id.

/me needs to look more closely at screenshots in the future.

So, for my needs, posibility to pick launcher dol and this will be complete.
