Hmm I'm not sure if the version I have is the 1.2 or 1.2a. I'll check when I get home tonight. At the time of my original post(2 days ago) I just used the links on page 1.

@starstreak - have you tried 1.2a?

Starstreak: An alternate Dol file will not create a channel, It is just some information the disk uses on start-up. In the latter test builds of cover flow are compatible with booting alternate Dol files from USB or SD card. Now booting the game from Gecko is just fine but I remember having problems with this same thing. This is what I did - Got the Alt Dol from google and a program called (I think) Neogamma v6. It is like Gecko but can run Alt Dol's. Then booted the Alt Dol; this started the game and it would freeze after the tutorial video which is what I was told would happen. That fixes the games save data somehow and after you can boot the game whatever way, just remember to switch back the Dol's if you boot in Neogamma again. But you don`t have to do this, I would think there are better ways.

Hello,

I tried for several days r988 and unfortunately, some games do not longer works :
Wii play (Pal) (First screen about wiimote security and nothing more)
Kororinpa: Marble Mania (Pal) (black screen with 3 lines of letters, the last 2 lines : DVD...)
Marble chalenge (Kororipa 2) (Pal) (black screen)
Grand chelem tennis (Pal) (works fine with some tennis court, but not all)
Fix error_02 or anti_error didn't change anything.

I downgrade for r976, and these games works again.

Any idea ?

Thanks again to all developers, your loader is great.

Ok, I am currently using a different USB Loader that stores all of the covers/themes on the Hard drive instead of the SD card....

Can CoverFloader/Cover Flow do this?

That is the main thing that is keeping me from switching over to this one because I like this one better, but I like the storage factor of the other one....(I know, not a big deal, but it is to me)

Currently I am running 4.2 with Preloader 3 so I just installed the other USB Loader's boot.dol and make it start at boot and I would LOVEEEEE to use Floader instead.

I believe it loads the covers from wherever it's run from. If you run it off a FAT partition on USB, it pulls the covers from USB.

Of course Coverfloader is able to work with dynamic paths.
It's defined in wiicoverflow.xml in section paths.

Replace SD:/ with USB:/ and add your wanted path
You can edit this manually or using OSK (OnScreen-Keyboard) on Info/page 2

Hi all,

let me provide the following experience which could show a possible bug to be solved.

I was using CoverFloader r976 with no problems up to 2-3 weeks ago.

I had a freeze problem changing from 2d to 3d the GUI but it has been solved with r987 and r988.

I recently updated the HBC from 1.0.3 to 1.0.6.

Today I tested these three versions again and now everytime I boot the loaders it autoreboots to HBC after the "Initializing Image Buffer".

I deleted all of the configs and all of the cover images, in order to avoid possible config file or cover file corruption.

OK they loades but if I try to change the path cover, when I reboot the loader it start again in going straight to HBC after the "Initializing Image Buffer".

In other words, either I leave untouched the configs or the loader stops loading... this happens on both r976, r987 and r988

Since the config file and covers have been deleted, the only difference in my Wii with respect to 2-3 weeks ago is the HBC 1.0.6

Hope this could be useful to remove possible bugs...

Thanks again to all of the developers for this very good loader...

Cambo

PS: suggestions for possible features in future releases: support for fullcoversHQ and the possibility to define the servers to be used to download the covers....

awesome! Thanks for the info guys....really appreciate it!

Ok, only problem is, doesn't the boot.dol file tell it to look for usb-loader on the sd card to even know where the files are suppose to be stored?

Will I need to compile the source myself to get it to do something different?

I've got it loading off USB now. I changed the xml file and removed the usb-loader folder from my SD card and put it on my FAT32 partition, and it's working fine.

Ok, so put the usb-loader folder on my FAT32 partition, remove it from SD card, and add the:

codes to my xml file located in the usb-loader folder that is on the hard drive?

then I should be able to install the boot.dol in my preloader right????

thanks for the help guys!

No, there should be a wiicoverflow.xml file already in your usb-loader folder, and you'll want to change those from SD:/ to USB:/ to run from USB. As for running the boot.dol from Preloader, I tried that myself and it didn't seem to work, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Please try CF_r990 with your listed games and report...

dear developers,

I have found the reason of the problem I described some posts above:
One only damned .png image among 904 was corrupted...

Everything works again now, even with the very last r990.

Thanks for your work and your support

for some reason, THIS is what my wiicoverflow.xml file has in it:

thats all.

Try deleting it and the loader should re-make it.

I did, and even after downloading all the images and stuff I keep getting the same thing. lmao

I went ahead and added the codes manually (the USB: stuff) and it works fine off of the hard drive now....even loading with preloader too!

I am officially loving this usb loader other than I wish some of my games had covers.....I'll wait a week or so for them to show up (3D covers that is)

links removed!

As like before, these are not forwarders!

Edit: please, the download links from your quotes as a new wad will be uploaded.
