Gaming could someone recommend a good pc multiplayer fps?

the first thing i heard about mw2 was that that there were no dedicated servers, so i bought the next game on the shelf: flashpoint dragon rising. thats when i found out it doesn't have dedicated servers either

could someone recommend some good fps's while we wait for the new battle filed?

The original Unreal Tournament is still surprisingly well supported with servers and mods. A lot of players still on there too! And the bonus - runs on pretty much anything these days.

ah man i went back to UT for a bit. really brought back memories. that game is still a winner.

now that i've gotten into FDR i find it's pretty amazing. intense and tactical. none of cod's gung ho attitude.

with so many new games comming out it'll be hard finding time to go back to the older ones. i haven't even started on dragon age yet.

9 classes to play as: Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, Spy; each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and abilities.
7 modes to play in: Capture the Flag, Standard Control Point, Attack/Defend, Territorial Control, Payload Race, Payload, Arena, King of the Hill, each with many maps (except for TC)
Lots of achievements
Is patched often (not just bugfixes; new modes and maps, eg King of the Hill didn't exist 2 months ago)
A ton of dedicated servers

I was about to say that as well... The game is like a mix of CounterStrike and Quake 3. I play it heaps since I don't have enough money to buy new release games.

Another vote for Team Fortress 2. I've been playing it for about 1.5 years already and it's still not boring (weird seeing as I mostly play one particular map - pl_goldrush).

urban terror is good but i dunno it's kinda like ubuntu... all i see is wasted potential.
the blood splatter is unnecessary and poorly done, the weapon recoil physics could use some tweaking and theres wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much bunny hoping. apart from that it's gameplay itself is pretty good.

sticking with tf2 and cod4 for now.

Call of Duty 2, hands down.
Best game in the whole series, and my favorite shooter of all time.
