Hacking Corrupted SAVs?

Unfortunately I too have fell victim to the corrupted save file bug. I updated my firmware to v1.1.2 some weeks ago when I received the e-mail from the DS-X team urging me to do so. At that time I backed up all of my software and it all worked smoothly. Unfortunately, now several weeks later my Pokemon Diamond save has become corrupted. I've put in 70+ hours or so since that backup (I know, I should have backed up again, I am stupid in that regard) and am running out of ideas about how to fix it.

Here is what I have to work with so far:

1 older backup save file - I have gotten it to load/save fine on my DS-X and Pokesav can load it and see everything in storage. I was able to get this older backup save to work finally by following the instructions on this thread on another forum: http://forums.ds-xtreme.com/showthread.php?t=3964 This save file I have put 70 or so hours of playtime into.

1 very new save file - When I try to load it on my DS-X it gives me the message that "The save file has been erased due to corruption or damage". If I try to load it with Pokesav, it can read the file, but when it gets to about Box 3 in storage at around space number 11 the pokemon names just turn into ||||||||. This is the save file I desperately would like to fix, as I have around 136 hours into it.

To clarify, to load the DS-X save files into Pokesav I have been converting them into M3 files or Supercard CF files (both seem to work) using: http://www.shunyweb.info/index.php

I have tried to read/follow the amazing Kazumi's instructions about loading my sad corrupted save file into no$gba v2.4b but I can't seem to get it to work. The first issue I ran into was that I had no NO$GBA.INI to edit, so I found the text of it online, pasted it into a text document, saved it with the proper name and edited it as directed. However, trying to put the "uncompressed" (either the converted to M3 or converted to Supercard CF type) save files into the battery folder after editing the INI file didn't seem to do anything. Both the corrupted and non corrupted files caused the emulator to load Diamond and simply try to start a new game; neither displayed the corrupt message in no$gba v2.4, but neither asked to load a save either.

I am wondering if I am unable to load any saves (corrupted or not) because I need the "BIOS" or "Firmware" files (which I don't have) in the no$gba v2.4 directory to both generate the INI file as well as properly load my save files? Either way I have been unsuccessful in using no$gba v2.4 as a test of my sad corrupted file.

So, now I am just about out of ideas. I've scoured forums and exhausted my skills trying to fix it. Is there any hope for me? Downgrading my DS-X Firmware? Or is there someone who would be willing to take a look at my corrupted save file? I can easily make myself available via e-mail or MSN some evening if need be. Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated, I love the game but I am not sure I want to put in another 70 hours capturing pokemon I just caught a week ago.

As just a side note I really do appreciate all the effort Kazumi has put into this thread so far and what it sounds like D3R3LIC7 has done in others; regular people like me appreciate having a smart community of people around figuring out these issues.

I also have the latest firmware on my DS-Xtreme, but I don't get corrupted sav on my Pokemon Diamond. I just get where I know i have saved it but when I go back and start the game, it just starts from new as if my sav is not even there.

Have also tried Pokemon Ranger and do get corrupted save with it.

I have not tried the no$gba emulator yet. Will do that when I get some time here for the pokemon Diamond sav and see what happens.
I even tried where I save a game, shut down the DS-X, start it up again and start a totally different game, save it, then go and try the Pokemon Diamond, but no luck.

This is the only problems I have with the latest firmware.

@pirivan

NO$GBA.INI is generated whenever you click "Save Options" under "Options" menu in no$gba emulator.

If you can get the Pokemon Diamond ROM to load on no$gba but it is not recognizing your save, the be sure of the following:

1. Your save is located in the BATTERY folder in no$gba installation folder and it is uncompressed.
2. Your save is named exactly as the ROM you are loading, i.e. if your Diamond ROM is named "Pokemon Diamond.nds" your save must be named "Pokemon Diamond.sav"
3. Which size is your save? If you are using DS-X firmware 1.1.2 I assume it is 512 kbytes (uncompressed). Be sure you've specified the proper save type under "Options->Emulation Setup" It must be set to FLASH 512KBytes under "NDS Cartridge Backup Media".

Anyway check your private messages
