I have a PS3 I've been pondering replacing the paste and fan in, but I was also curious about third party options for cooling if anyone has any experience. Last time I ran it, it got to 77 celcius and I immediately shut it off, haven't turned it back on since. It is a cechp01.

On dash. It'll creep to that. But in games had gotten to 80.

Good idea to change the thermal paste and give the internal a proper cleaning, at xmb I get around high 50 to low 60 and gaming I get around mid 70 , haven't hit 80 even with game like GTA V.

I just don't want it too burn up. Getting harder to find older console capable of real non han cfw

Then again I am using webman fan mod, I have it set to an auto speed of 45%
I'll have to look into that too actually. I redid the thermal paste with as5 last year, but was thinking maybe the fan went out .I'll see what the fan mod can get me.

Fan mod can reduce the temperature a bit for you just dont run like like 100% fan, you will have a fan that sound like a jet engine and blew out the fan so fast, ~40% is good for that.
