This piece of shit was released by Konami at 1992 for NES while same company had long history with great NES games even for license games. HOW?

I know. Still crappy game even without Contra's brand.

The original game (which had nothing to do with Contra) was cancelled in Japan. It was dead. They dumped it in the US market and put the Contra tag on it to try to minimize the loss. It was late in the NES's lifespan, SNES was already out I think. So using the Contra name was their scheme for selling a game on NES when nobody was buying NES games anymore.

Kirby's Adventure was released in 1993 in NES and yet it was huge hit.
