My Switch has an issue where the console appears to charge fine but after a few seconds of unplugged usage it displays the "low battery" icon over the screen and puts itself to sleep. This happens no matter what the battery's charge is. If my battery is at 98% and I unplug it after a couple seconds(sometimes longer) it will show the "low battery" icon and force itself into sleep mode. I can wake it up right away and it will still display 98% battery but after a couple seconds it will do it again. I haven't done any homebrew or modding, I was wondering if it was an issue anyone else had and if anyone knew of a fix that was cheaper than sending the console into Nintendo for $100 repairs?

If you have been using Linux on your Nintendo switch I think that you messed up your battery calibration if not you may have a hardware problem

Maybe your battery life has decreased to the point it's not taking charge anymore. Thus often happens with laptop battery as well: from 0% it'll go to 95% in 15 minutes and deplete to 15% at an alarming rate.
But I might be wrong and your issue could be fixed via simple battery calibration.

To my understanding re-calibrating the battery involves charging it to full and then letting it die but I can't get the battery to die because the Switch will just put itself to sleep

Open Switch. Disconnect battery. Hold power button for 10 seconds to discharge components. Let battery sit for a day, unused. Reconnect battery and try again.
