I've been thinking about textures for a second, and I wanted to make sure I got this right.

A muddy texture is when there is little to no detail whatsoever.

A low resolution texture is when the texture has good detail, but when you walk up to it, the detail breaks up.

Then a high resolution texture is when the texture has good detail and maintains the detail when close to it.

Sorry for the stupid thread. I'm just trying to clarify my mind before I think what im saying is right.

Low resolution and High resolution mean just that - they have very few pixels or a lot.

The way you put it is slightly odd - it's like saying a small photo has high detail when zoomed out, but not when zoomed in, but a big picture maintains the detail.

Not heard of muddy textures, but it sounds like a low-resolution blurry texture. (as opposed to pixellated)
