I see.. Well it is an NTFS drive, I have changed the paths, and I get the same result. Are there any other variables I need to adjust for an NTFS drive?
I have partition = NTFS1 and fat_split_size = 0.

I have downloaded some covers with the CFG on the PC, with the covers wizard. It sees them fine there, and downloads them to the same directory as the others.
Still no show on the wii though. When I try to download them on the wii, however..

I go to manage, then download missing covers; it takes me to a console screen with the overlay, but then switches to a full screen console (DOS style) streams loads of lines, and ends with:

cfg70
Exception (dsi) Occurred!

STACK DUMP:
lots of numbers and letters. don't have time to copy them all.

Reloading In 60 Seconds.

It then reboots the wii. Any ideas?

Hello all, I'm new to the usb loader stuff. One question, I have my games running fine, but it still freezes randomly mostly on black/loading screens. Sometimes it will freeze so much that I can't really play for more than 5 mins at a time. Other times it'll mostly freeze after the game over screen on the black screen(if anyone has played MG2, they should know what I mean). Is there any way to correct this? Mostly on mario galaxy 2, but has occurred in my other games. Is this normal to have freezing every now and then?

Also, I've noticed after playing for about 10 minutes or so sometimes the background music will cut out of the game and leave only sound effects. MG2 again. Any thoughts?

It's been ages since I've touched my Wii, and it's not like I'm actually having any compatibility issues, but I feel as though I should probably update to the actual latest version of this thing. Currently running version 60-220, on an embedded channel, i.e. I'm not using a forwarder. I can't find a link to an up-to-date embedded channel, and I don't want to use a forwarder. Any help?
You're probably not going to have much luck unless you make one on your own. Why do you want to use an embedded channel? They're inferior to a forwarder in pretty much every way.
How can I make one on my own, then? I guess my request for help wasn't exactly clear

You should also have ntfs_write=1. If that doesn't allow cover download on the Wii to work, then I'm out of ideas. Cfg does have some case sensitivity issues when reading from NTFS drives, though, so make sure the directory names are all lower case and change them if not (use a PC to do this). If that's not it, I'm sorry, but I don't know.

Your drive is spinning down due to inactivity and does not wake up fast enough when new requests come in. Try looking for an application from your drive manufacturer that disables "spin down" "spindown" or "power saving". If you find such an app, use it. You can also try using Hermes' IOS as it works better than d2x on some drives that exhibit fast spin down.

You want to look to information about injecting dols into their own channels and installing them. This is very dangerous, not recommended and will require you to do a lot of research if you don't know what that means and you will get no further help here.

What we can help you with is forwarder installation and set up of your drive so it launches from there. This is really easy unless your whole drive is formatted as WBFS, and even if it is, it's not hard to reformat your drive to one of the better formats while keeping all your games. Thus, there is no downside to using a forwarder. Again, why are you so determined to have a channel version?

Yep I have NTFS write enabled also. It will let me download themes!

and I have double checked the capitalisation, and it all checks out!

I guess I'll have to live with no covers

Its works for me. The only thing I changed was adding ntfs_write = 1 to the config file. Everything else is default

I have switched to CFG USB Loader to be able to load RB3. I have successfully gotten it to run with full SDHC and instrument support (mic and keyboard dongle) by installing d2x v6 with base 56.

My problem is now that it takes a really long time (2min) to finally load the game after launching it. It says "Starting Game ...." until finally it runs. It certainly is more annoying than going to put the disc in, but I'd love for it to launch like all the other games.

I am running it from a Lexar 32gig USB stick (FAT32), so spin-up and seek time and such shouldn't be an issue.

For troubleshooting, I have tried installing d2x v3-5 instead, but they all do the same thing.

Any suggestions would be really great, since I'd love to finally ditch the regular system menu.

Thanks in advance

OK. So I just softmodded my wii last week with great success. No problems whatsover. Got HBC, got bootmii loaded as boot2, I've got all my emulators, got neogamma.

I have Configurable USB loader as a forwarder which is super convenient. Even got 5 games loaded up on the external HDD and they all work flawlessly!

Now, here's my question:

I used to own Super Smash Bros. Brawl but in a moment of poor judgement, I traded it in. I still have my saved file on my wii system memory. What I was wondering is-- If I DL a new copy of SSBB, load it onto my external hard drive, so I can play it through CFG USB Loader-- Will I be able to load the save file directly off the wii system memory?? If so, how do I do this? I'd like to retain the many hours put into that game.

Of course you will be able to load your saved game. Games from external HDD save to Wii System Memory too. The image has to be the same region as the retail game was.
Although, keep in mind that downloading games is kinda illegal and so.
slicer74, instead of saying obvious stuff you could just answer the question.

I'm fairly new to the Wii Softmodding scene but have managed to mod a couple of Wii's using ModMii and then run games from an external hard drive with CFG V70. The default IOS for running games is 249 but I've had to change this to IOS250 (have cIOS250[57]-d2x-v6 and cIOS249[56]-d2x-v6) to play a certain game. I know this setting can be changed for all games using the CfgLoaderConfigurator but is there any best setting for this or is it a case of different IOS's for different games?

249[56]d2x v6 should cover almost all games. 250[57]d2x v6 is needed for a few games (namely Black Ops and Conduit 2).

Black Ops was the game I had to change it for, so if I set the default to 250[57]d2x v6 will this still allow all of the games that need 249[56]d2x v6 to work?

No. I don't know why you are so eager to change it. Leave the default at 249. Change Black Ops to 250 and save settings. You are done.

Hi there,

I soft modded my Wii a couple of years ago, so I have the Homebrew channel v1.0.8 installed iOS37 v14.25. I want to run my backup ISO's from my USB drive, but my SD card is not working anymore so I have lost the installation on the SD card.

So my question is, can I install and use CFG Loader without the Homebrew channel installation files on the SD card?

Many thanks!
