Home=Pune seems to not work in v68.

The menu that let us get to the homebrew channel is sweet... but it would be nice to be able to get to the sytem menu as well sometimes.

Is there a way that I am missing?

Thanks.

Mike

Hi all, I'm a newbie and very new to Wii. First post here.

I followed xzxero's 4.3U mod guide, with cIOS and what-not, and got HBC installed.

I am able to load and run CFG from a USB HD (as well as from SD). However, once CFG is loaded, it doesn't see the USB HD. In CFG, if I opted to change the device to SD, CFG would see it fine and I could install/play backup game on SD.

In other words, CFG works except it doesn't see the USB HD (even though HBC sees it). I tried two different HD's with two different enclosures, as well as with WiiFlow, and kept getting the same result. It is plugged to the USB port closest to the edge, and I've tried plugging/unplugging it in different sequences.

So, HBC can see the USB HD and load the CFG app from it, but CFG can't mount the USB HD. What gives? Is my HD incompatible with CFG even though HBC could use it?

that cios and what not is actually pretty critical, as a cios is what allows a usb loader to access your hard drive.

so which one, or ones, do you have installed?

Thanks Julien. I've been suspecting that, but my newbie-ness is my stumbling block. I don't have the list as I'm away from the Wii, but it includes all of the cIOS installed by YAWM Multimod Batch (and there was 0 failed). This morning, I looked thru Wii Mod v2.6 (is there a better way to dump the cIOS list?) and I'm pretty sure it included Hermes and Waninkoko's.

I couldn't see a mention of this after a search, sorry if it's been answered before.

If I have a custom with a unique ID is there a way to add info in an xml that wont get overwritten if I update the db from wiitdb ?

I remember in the past you allowed a .txt for custom names so that when titles.txt was updated the customs still had proper titles, is there a way for doing this with info ?

btw, great loader, love the new look

In the gui menu how do I set the option for 2D? It always starts at full. I can cycle between 2d, 3d, full, hq, and rgb, but when I exit then return it defaults to full again. Either that or how do I disable the spin in full view?

Note that eh Pune option is only if you have Priiloader installed and booting to Cfg automatically. Priiloader also needs to be up to date in order to use the option. Have you had it working before and now it doesn't work, or are you trying for the first time now? If you have not installed Priiloader, then Reboot is the option you want to get back to the Wii Menu.

No there isn't. The custom titles are available through custom-titles.txt, but we don't have a mechanism for a custom wiitdb.xml. Doing so would be difficult due to the way the file is handled.

There is no option that controls wither of these at this time. You could set the default gui mode to one of the gridflow modes as opposed to the coverflow ones, but I think they would still default to 2D in the GUI viewer.

Pune has been part of my config.txt file for a while now. I have the priiloader that is part of the latest modmii install.

I have always set priiloader to autoboot cfg, then told it to return to autoboot.

When I put home=pune in the config.txt I was able to get to the system menu when I needed.

I guess home is mapped in cfg now... right? That is really my problem. Just tried re-boot and it gets me to cfg... as I had set it to in priiloader...

Is there another button I can map pune to? Thanks again for the tips.

Mike

Thanks Dr for the clarification, I find the xml myself a bit overwhelming too.

If anyone can think of an automated or semi automated way to add new nodes after an update to keep custom info let me know

You're right at the moment that functionality in gui is not available.
However you can switch to console mode (Button B) and press home there then it should work.
We will add that to the gui too sometime.

Oggzee, are you planning to implement cIOSX d2x v5 alpha 1 's new method for Block IOS reload in Cfg any time soon?
It would be heavenly the ability to finally play some uncompatible games like CoD3,SC after all these years!

Alright, no biggie, but it would be nice to control that. Thank you for the answer.

During this year you should have used a disk. If you can afford a usb hdd, you can afford a blank dvd.

That doesn't count if your Wii has a D3-2/D4 drive, like mine. And where I live, a new/used D2C drive is very expensive.

I have seen growing up this aplication...and i am fascinated....

I really don´t know which surprise will be now..after the new gui...But instead i guess this has already been posted...at the end i really don´t know the reason why it´s not possible to download the translations like i do with new versions..themes..etc...

I think it´s the only thing i miss now....

I play all the games i have (154) with cfg loader...the compatibility is almost complete...so i hope this can possible in the future...

P.D.:
If the problem is a page where to download the translations i guess there will be a lot of people ready to help...

Thanks to all the developers to make my cousin (10 years) happy every day playing wii instead of thinking how hard is the life....

I was wondering if there would be a way for the end user like myself to change the opening Splash Screen from Blue to a different color. I have a Red and Black Wii theme and was wondering if that could be an option in the future? Thanks to everyone that works on the CFG Usbloader it is awesome!

That is the first place I looked, but I did not see where a graphic file was.. I am talking about the BIG Blue CFG when Configurable USB Loader is loading when you see ver 68d 249 250 that screen. If you could kindly point me to the right file. Thanks.
