I want to add a suggestion to the list "Some known issues and suggestions that are frequently asked about": Load DVD from a external USB DVD reader, and cMIOS Support. And, if isn't a problem, the possibility to do scroll on game description before loading a game.

Hi!
[...]So that we could have covers and .wbfs (or .iso) inside the same folder?

Is it planned?

Note: I'm not in a hurry, I'd rather like having translating bugs fixed (as talked here) but I wanted to share this thought.
That's already been suggested and it was considered, but even though I like it at the moment I don't plain to do it, lack of time, and other features that have higher priority...
Thanks for letting me know, as I said I'm not in a hurry but it's good to know it might come some day even if it takes months

Hey i recently switched from a WBFS format to Fat32 with WBFS folder
and the weirdest thing happened. I backed up my settings because of games like Mario Strikers, Klonoa, House of the Dead, SSX etc all required Vid Patch, Alt dols, Force NTSC and all separate settings. I swap to Fat and realize that all games are 222&223 now almost every game booted flawlessly without changing any settings is this a normal occurrence

222/223 has nothing to do with alt dols or having to force regions

I seem to be having trouble with the loader. I followed the tutorial to the letter, and it worked perfectly, until I turned it off(using the power button on the wiimote). I come back an hour later to play again, and it freezes while attempting to load the .WBFS . Everything was current as I set up everything last night. I even updated CnfgUSBloader to 52b-fat to attempt to fix the problem, with no change in the freezing.

I'm running it off an SD card only, fat formatted and has never been WFBS formatted, no USB was involved in this at all.

(I'm also aware that this has likely come up before, and have done a google search. however the results are either massive threads that i can't reasonably dig through or the issue was unresolved/ignored.)

I don't know about anyone else, but I was already able to launch a Gamecube backup (one of those wonderful multigame discs) I had with Configurable USB Loader. This isn't what you mean?

Thanks for the NTFS support! I made the switch from WBFS a couple weeks ago and everything went well... until recently.

Lately ive been having random freezes as the loader stopped reading from the hard drive. I would attribute this to the hard drive spinning down, but its a Toshiba 250GB and they are not supposed to have this problem. Also, it worked fine without a hitch on a WBFS partition just a few weeks ago.

If anyone knows what is causing this, I would like to know, otherwise I'll just reformat the hard drive and copy all my games back on... probably take a day or so to do but if it fixes the problem it would be worth it.

Edit: I'm attaching a video to show you guys exactly what I mean by random freezes and the hard drive stopping reading.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XjskBcKEp4
heh it really looks bad

I can't tell, maybe there is some problem with ntfs indeed, or maybe the drive is having problems...
I would suggest running a S.M.A.R.T. diagnostic (part of SpeedFan program, although I'm not sure if it can do it with external drive...)
Maybe as you said, try reformat and copy again and see how it goes...
Maybe also try with all filesystems - NTFS, FAT and WBFS and see if there's a difference...

I believe Mario Kart in particular is corrupt, maybe others are as well...

I burned a copy of the Mario Kart iso straight off of my hard drive, and it has the exact same issue as loading through the hard drive had.

Either that or an IOS is not working properly...at least thats what i hope would be the issue. It would take a really long time to copy all my games back on the hard drive through the discs...

I can't seem to figure out how to play games in .iso format from a ntfs hdd.
All help is welcome, needed and very much appreciated

On your HDD, make an NTFS partition. Games go on the drive like this:
/wbfs/GAMEID_GameTitle/GAMEID.ISO
(edit: thanks for correction oggzee, couldn't remember for sure without my drive in front of me)

So, on the root of the drive, there should be a folder called 'wbfs', and each ISO ends up in a subdirectoy named by GAMEID_GameTitle.
Wii Backup Manager will handle all of the file naming for you.

Make sure IOS 222 v4 is installed on your Wii.
Set your USB loader to use IOS 222, and choose your NTFS partition. For CFG loader, it may be easier to download the FAT version. It's for FAT and NTFS.

(I haven't kept up to date over the last few weeks, so maybe something has changed.)

Actually:
/wbfs/GAMEID_GameTitle/GAMEID.ISO
or:
/wbfs/GameTitle [GAMEID]/GAMEID.ISO
or:
/wbfs/GAMEID.ISO

Thanks a bunch. That will get me started !
I think I'll go for /wbfs/GAMEID.iso as I don't like a lot of subdirectories.

Right, i should probably add more info about the problem. It freezes on "Booting Wii game, please wait... IOS(222) nload" (doesn't even get to add the ellipses after nload) and the wii's disk drive begins to flash blue repeatedly. I'm using rev 4 of Hermes 222, rev 17 of the 249, just as the GAF wikidot directed. it also similarly freezes when attempting to load an actual wii game disk through the loader.

my only experience with cfg flashing blue like that is when it cannot see the hard drive. has your drive powered down, become unplugged, gone to sleep or something along those lines?

I'm running entirely off an SD card. the game is in the same sdcard and partition as the loader. and it worked fine once. so there's no hard drive to turn off or spin down, unless you're referring to the wii's internal memory

whoops, sorry...although i am well endowed with many talents, reading is apparently not one of them.

have you tried backing up, formatting the card with the panasonic tool, and then restoring the data back to it? seems as though cfg wants to read something, and simply cannot.

It sort of sounds like your Hermes' IOS got stubbed out somehow. When you go to global options (push 1 twice), what does it say your IOS is? Install Hermes' IOSes again just to be safe (perhaps using AnyTitle Deleter first).

You could also try power cycling your drive before starting the loader (it could be a weird sleep issue).

oggzee just posted an update on google 5 mins ago.. but it says v50, when the newest is v52. .was that jsut a typo?
oggzee was simply adding the v50 code to the svn. The next release will be v52b2 and will include Wii Message Board/Nintendo Channel Play Log support.

It's been some time since I used Configurable Loader. I used it previously with Madworld and it work great. I now try to use the same usb (but I format it 2 weeks ago) from before, fat32, put converted Mario Galaxy into a wbfs folder in the usb and load ConfigurableL from HC and it gives me a black screen with an error:

Provide the numbers from the Stack Dump section only (take a picture or copy them down), and it might help find the problem.
