anyone know if anyone is working on a way to exit a cfgloaded game back to cfgloader instead of having to re-run cfgloader to load a different game?
The only way to do this now is with Preloader/Priiloader, and things are very likely going to stay that way.

so there's no other way to make cfgloader exit to cfgloader instead of wii menu or hbc?

Simple answer: No.
Explained answer: Without Priiloader, you can't even return to the HBC, only to the WiiMenu. There's no way to change this from an Homebrew-App, because it's how the Wii work. If you exit a game, the Wii loads the Systemmenu. But because Priiloader places itself there (or before, dunno), it can make you boot directly back into CFG-Loader or HBC. So it's your only way.

(Btw: Anyone though of an Online-Update which installs the CFG.dol where Priiloader would install it? So integrate the Install-Function from Priiloader, and always install the newest .dol? Would be pretty neat, because it won't take ages to load (what it does for me from USB) and it will then also work without the forwarder.dol...just a thought...)

Is there a way of linking the CUSBL to IGN or similar review site so that the games can have a /10 score or a star rating?
Could be in the screen where it plays the opening sounds and requires you to press A to continue?

well in theory there is a way to load any channel when you exit a game without using preloader. each game dol is linked with some official libraries just like homebrew is linked with libogc and libfat and stuff.

when you play a game with the fwrite patch enabled, you can see these different libraries.

on every game, at the exact moment you press the home button, the game spews out this about apparently a homebutton library made by nintendo.
CODE>

it would just take somebody digging through the main dol with a disassembler to find this library and then a patch could be made just like the 002 and other patches that are already done and the game would load whatever forwarder channel it wanted when you exited it. unfortunately i know very little about disassembly so i havent found the right stuff to patch. but im sure if somebody that knew what to look for poked around for a few minutes, they could come up with the right stuff.

About return to loader: I'm not interested in spending time on that...
If someone figures it out however we can always include the change

Yes there's probably a way, but it's not gonna happen. Now a way to add your own rating...that's a different story.

Hmm, unless it would be added to wiitdb, since we support wiitdb now it would be fairly easy for us to show / use that rating. Not sure if zorglub/lustar is interested in adding that to wiitdb though...

Let's ask him - not like he's difficult to locate

The problem is where this rating comes from and how it gets updated. Just one more sort type for gannon to add...

This is unacceptable !!!
do you mean I have to click again on the channel after exiting the games and you won't do anything about it !!
I am soooooo mad at you !!!

of course I am not being serious.. come on people.. this is a such a lazy request... I am so happy oggzee and cie are working on other features.

@oggzee
btw. just for our info.. is the faq/to do list in the first post up to date ?
just to see what you might be currently working on

That is not the to-do list.
That is the "we know what people wish, so stop asking about it" list.
But I will update it with what [gannon] already implemented.
Currently I'm not working on anything

@redia
do you see any usbloader returning to the laoder after a game?
i didnt saw any...

surely we will look forward to a fixed cfgforwarder for priiloader

some applications return back to the HBC
but what do you prefer..HBC or SysMenu

In sysmenu you need to click on one button..in HBC maybe you need to scroll to the button and then click...

i assume it wont cost so many effort to click on one button, instead of going to the wii, pressing the eject button, insert another game dvd, and click in menu on the button

so it is already much easier...
no reason for ironique postings...

yeah.. I know that's why I did not know how to name it.. lol

ok.. now I know why the developper team of CFG is so small.
the first prerequisite to enter your team must be something like :
"you are not allowed to ever sleep before Wii2 is released and we give up CFG coding" !!!
lol

chaosenergy,

oops. sorry I did not mean to sound ironic. just being my usual smarta$$. really did not want anything else..

I agree with you, no loader does return automatically.
in fact the post from giantpune is the first time I see there might be an end at the end of the tunnel..

but I would rather have oggzee and cie work on features that are missing.. not on feature that I can replace with a few clicks..
I am pretty sure that now that giantpune pointed that out someone in one or another loader will dig into it and soon we will have a solution that can be implemented in all the loaders.

once again, sorry, no harm intended.

Cheers,
R

No, what I meant is that I will update that list with the stuff that is already implemented in v51, which is:

* DONE: WiitDB integration (game info: description, genres, which controllers, number of players, etc...)
* DONE: DVD launcher

DVD launcher ?
ok.. you got me on this one.
am I the only one scratching my head wondering if I missed it.. or if it just a teaser for next version ?

I don't even use an SD in my wii, everything is on my usb hdd. Is there a way to set priiloader to load cfg from my usb hdd?

you need to install priiloader v0.2 (rev30) or higher for usb support (I recommend rev46 as rev30 has bugs). See my signature for everything you will ever need thats priiloader (or preloader) related.

The only issue with Priiloader after v0.1 (rev15) is the standard NForwarder for priiloader to launch configurable usb loader doesn't work on this rev of priiloader (not sure if its priiloader or the forwarder that's the problem though).

So to get it to launch, install the usbloader_gx official forwarder via priiloader, then rename "usbloader_cfg" to "usbloader_gx".

You should also update your configurable config file to change the update path to usbloader_gx (use dr clippers configurator for configurable).

If you have a forwarder channel installed to your main system menu you will need to alter the path it launches (use customize mii) and install a forwarder that launches the boot.dol from SD/USB:/apps/usbloader_gx/

Hopefully someone fixes up the Nforwarder soon, I'd rather keep my current structure as I still have both usbloader_gx and usbloader_cfg saved to my card already I don't want to have to save configurable under the gx path. It would be even better if someone figures out how to mod gameplay to have the reset button return to the loader (as giantpune has now declared is possible). But as always, we need to be patient and our devs will continue to blow our minds!

A quick question about the grenre list that is used for filtering. Is this list hard coded into the loader or is it parsed from WiiTDB? I only ask because there is no 'Fitness' filter in the list but a lot of games are listed under this genre on the WiiTDB site. If it's hard coded, would it be possible to add this genre to the list? I did try to find a definitive genre list on the WiiTDB site but couldn't find one so I guess a lot of it is down to the person who adds the entry and what they decide is suitable in their opinion.
