Resplit.bat does not use the new directory layout. Currently, you've gotta use resplit.bat THEN move_dirs.bat. Not a big deal, but it might be worth updating in the next version.

I don't know if its by design or not, but I've found that 49b2-fat doesn't set hide_hddinfo = 1 like the older fat versions did (I think it was mentioned in a prior post but I've included it just in case). Adding hide_hddinfo = 1 to the config file takes care of the problem. I've checked my theme and confirmed that it doesn't have hide_hddinfo anywhere in it.
This was a result of the partial overrides oggzee implemented. You must have simple=0 in your config.txt, which then overrides your theme.txt and sets hide_hddinfo=0. This wasn't seen before as the lack of a simple option in your theme.txt. Take a look in Configurator 49.6 (included in the 49 package) and you'll see how this works. In fat mode, setting simple=0 as a global option will make hdd_info switch off on the overrides page.

Of course, this is all different in v49 as simple now, only in fat mode, has the bizarre affect of setting hide_hddinfo to 1 whether you use simple=0 or simple=1. This will be changed in the next version to just remove the ability of simple to control hide_hddinfo in the fat version, which makes a lot more sense.

Edit: just a pointer for this, there's a slight bug in 49.6 which means that you have to click simple to 1 and then back to 0 to make it properly set to 0 so you can see what used to be happening.

Configurable USB Loader is the BOMB. My first thanks go to Dr. Clipper for helping me get it set up initially, but I can't mention thanks without giving major kudos to the talented programmers that make this thing! It is seriously one of the best apps I've ever used; I'm continually amazed at what folks like you manage to accomplish.

I'm new to the USB Loader and GBAtemp, so forgive my...uh, newness I suppose. Just after I finished getting my Wii all set up for the USB Loader and got all of my games installed, wouldn't you know the old hard drive I was using decided to not read anymore. It still spins up, but there's no joy. I actually suspect the crapper IDE to USB reader I have for it, so I'm in the market for a new USB hard drive and was curious what other folks are using. Basically I'm just looking for something that is pretty much guaranteed to work with the USB Loader at this point as it's the only reason I'm buying the drive. It doesn't have to be large; I'm replacing an 80GB drive and have only used about 30 of that. I don't have a really large game collection so anything in the 80-120GB range would be ideal for me.

I have read some (some) of this massive thread but there's simply no way I'm going to get through it all, so my apologies if this discussion has been done before. This thing has made me a full-on convert to Wii homebrew goodness, thanks again!

I'm not able to reproduce this problem, a few questions:
- using wbfs or fat for games?
- using usb or sd for games?
- using the normal 49b2.dol or 49b2-fat.dol?
- Not sure i understand completely your problem, are you saying that the first time you install it works fine but the second time (with another game) it fails?
- WBFS
- USB
- 49b2.dol

Steps to Reproduce:[*]Install a game.[*]Press A to eject when it's finished dumping.[*]Insert another game.[*]Press "+" to dump the second game. Loader freezes.

Ok thanks, the steps are clear now.
I will try it later, but if you have time, can you try it with v49 (release) too?

EDIT: tried it but still not able to reproduce

(might try some more tomorrow)

It might be related to the sd/fat install fix that i made in v49.
Are you perhaps using ios=222-mload (or 223-mload) in config.txt?
If yes then it might be related to that fix. If not, then yeh weird.
I was assuming you're using ios 249 (as is default with non -fat version)
Anyway, glad to hear it's working now, one thing less to worry about

I used Crap v2.something to make game channels for each game I have. When they launch, I get the USB Loader CFG splash screen, then it mounts the HDD, then the game launches. This whole process takes about 15 seconds from launching the channel to actually launching the game.

Is there a way to disable this and launch faster? I know its FAT, what partition, where exactly the game is located etc...

does anyone have the link to a channel that doesn't make that loud obnoxious techno music in the beginning? Maybe one that does the little virtual console chime?

why dont you replace it with your own obnoxious sound.bin then if the current one isnt to your standards

wbfs error hd num sector doesn't match

I've had this error before and was told to reformat. I used fat32format and it worked for a month and now the error is back, what is causing this? I really don't want to reformat again. Help please?

Another question random thought. Will it ever be possible to have a hybrid .dol file that runs both wbfs or fat32? If not i suggest it detect that its the wrong type of partition and say would you like to download the correct .dol?

Crap 2.5b comes with a forwarder that does not have the splash screen.

How long it takes to start a game by the forwarder made by Crap 2.5b ?

It took about 8 seconds without the splash screen.

I don't know if Crap supports that yet, but cfg can be made as a channel without the use of a forwarder which might make the launching process even faster. But you loose the ability to update the loader then, of course. Also I guess the speed might depend also on the SD card speed, etc...

Thanks! Now to remake all my channels...

Don't forget to update to cfg v49 if you want the disable the intro functionality. Also I think that just updating to v49 might make your existing channels load faster, as i have removed a delay that was previously there when using it for direct starting.

You're using games on FAT?
I don't think you need to reformat.
Maybe do a disk check under windows.
Is this happening with just a specific game or all games?
What tools did you use to install the games? (loader, wbfs_file, one of the gui managers,...?)

Both .dols can use both partition types, the -fat can use wbfs partiiton and the normal can use the fat partition. It's just a matter of different default configuration, and loading speed because the ios doesn't have to be re-initialized if the appropriate .dol is used. So a hybrid based on one of the new versions should support both partition types.
