When using FAT32, the maximum size can be partitioned is 200GB, right ?
Where did you get that info from?
According to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_allocation_table
The Max volume (partition) size for FAT32 is 2TB.
(or even 8TB or 16TB with large cluster size, but such large disks aren't around and even if they were, on wii 2TB is max that would be possible) The limit set by windows at 32gb, is only there because the larger the FAT partition is, the more time it takes to calculate the used/free space, which you can see that it takes a few moments for the first time in the console mode game list if hdd info is enabled.

There are programs that can convert the entire drive to fat32. You can do I think up to 2TB. I know for sure that you can do 1TB. Go to first page of this thread and download the fat32 tools.

Sorry I posted too slow and oggzee answered first.

First off, just want to say thanks to the team for this great loader. Second, I have a small issue, and most likely it's my card, but for some reason, it fails to be recognized by the loader. HBC can load from it, wiiflow, and a few other homebrew, but mplayer-ce, config usbloader, and a few other apps fail to recognize the SD card.

It is an 8 GB Kingston Micro SDHC. Like I said, it's not a huge problem, and it's probably just my card, but I can load using my USB HD, but I like having all my apps on my SD card, and all of my resources on my USB drive.

Again, thank you for this great application, and keep up the great work.

Ouwh...
Yes, you're right!
I didn't noticed that...
I was so so employed with the boundless possibilities that I lose the wish list out of my sight, sorry for that.

But, if statistical every 1000th usb-oader user is as stupid than me, and didn't noticed that, than there are over 10001 people who would like this feature.

Not sure how your equation goes, but there are only about 5000 users, so by following your logic i guess there are only 5 people who would like this feature

Hi THere,

I have installed the wad for the channel but it does not find the usbloader on my USB drive even though the path is the same?

Can it not read it from a HDD?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to GBAtemp.

Greatwork with the CUL (Configurable USB Loader)! One comment:

The loader has a locked and unlocked mode. However in locked mode it is still possible to use the - key to delete games.
This can happen in the grid / flow view. Once you select a game by clicking it, in that "view" the option to use - or + are blocked.

Could this be fixed? Now I don't dare giving the remote to my little kid for using the loader.

Thanx

Dear developers,

I would like to leave you an idea which could improve the newly introduced .wbfs files management on a FAT partition.

Is it possible to organize the .wbfs files inside the usb:/wbfs/ folder by means o the use of subfolders instead of the actual flat way?

This could allow the user to organize freely the games... the loader could give the image of a folder in correspondence of the subfolders in the FAT partition and could show the games inside the subfolder if a folder is selected and opened...

I do not know if this is possible, but a gerarchic organization could improve the games management...

Thanks for this awesome and revolutionary loader

Any suggestions? I just switched from GX, managed to copy all my games into .wbfs format and back onto my freshly formatted FAT32 drive. USB Loader will not mount the device (plugged into port 0 of course).

I am sure it is my bad, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for any help

*edit*
I reread my post and I was painfully unclear so let me add, I am getting Error ret-1 but I am certain my drive is plugged into the right port.

When does this error happen, can you make a picture?
Is the fat partition otherwise recognized in HBC? - try to copy apps/usbloader over there and check if it is visible in HBC when you switch to USB HDD.
Did you put the .wbfs files to \wbfs\ directory?
What model of hdd is that? How big?

To be honest with you I have no idea what brand or anything the drive it, I bought it ages ago and bought an enclosure for it. Now that I think about it I think it was a Seagate and it is 500GB. I know I have the config files etc set up right because I just format a 4GB memory stick and put a small game on it and the USB loader worked like a charm.

The drive definitely used to work for GX loader so I dont see any reason the wii wouldnt like it now.

What is happening is as soon as I load CUL it says

FAT32 mount: SD (Standard)
[USB Mass Storage Device]

[+] Mounting device, please wait...
(30 second timeout)

1 2 3 4.. etc etc

then it times out and says Make sure USB port 0 is used (which it is)

I was concerned that maybe the drive was F'd up but according to windows it is alive and healthy. (And yes, games are in WBFS folder)

Ideas?

power cycles?
corrupted drive?

if anything you should fully format it [again, which sucks.]
then just put on 1 game to see if it even gets recognized.

Which cios 249 revision do you have? (rev14?)
If not try upgrading. Or did you upgrade recently?
Do you have cios 222 rev4 installed?
Are you using the normal cfg v46 boot.dol or the 46-fat.dol version?
Try using one and the other and check if there is any change...
normal v46 uses cios 249 while the 46-fat version uses cios 222.
And yes as suggested, if nothing else works, try re-formatting to wbfs and see if that makes any change.

Rev 14
Cios 222 installed (using link in the tutorials in this thread, presumably they are up to date)
I am using the fat .dol (and did try both, no change)
I will try reformatting =/

To answer an earlier question yes HBC can see the drive fine, and I dont believe the drive is corrupt (though I guess I cant be sure. windows appears to think its a healthy drive though)

*EDIT*
Reformat didnt work. I will try something else, but after that I think I am giving up

Nothing worked, and I dont particularly feel like re downloading every game I had and starting over with a wbfs format, so I guess for me this program is a bust.

Quick question... prob already been covered but this thread is huge..............

How do i extract an iso from .wbfs using wbfs_file?

Also where can i get a full list of the commands for wbfs_file?

Is there a program or does this let you list all games on a wbfs or fat drive with there title id and name, but that saves it as a text file ??
use the wbfs_file.exe program. Type "wbfs_file.exe F: ls > c:\path\filename.txt" without quotes, where F is the WBFS drive, and you specify the path and name for the output file.

How do i use this to generate a gamelist from a FAT drive?

Read the readme.txt file in the wbfs_file_1.3 distribution... or type wbfs_file -h

for example you'll find:

wbfs_file filename.wbfs
Will convert filename.wbfs to GAMEID_TITLE.iso
