quepaso, leic7:

At the moment it will complain if there is no wbfs partition found, but just press A to select the FAT partition, don't worry it won't format anything, unless you press buttons + or - on the next screen.
This will be cleaned up soon to be more clear.

can playcounts be added?

is theres a way to show the cd/dvd in flow mode? example if i press UP button the back cover will be shown and if i press UP again the dvd will come out.

Ok, did that, but it says no games found. Although it says Used 102.8gb, free 269.7gb. They are in the /WBFS directory on the drive. I did rename the game files.

The game files have to be named exactly:

/wbfs/GAMEID.wbfs

for example:

/wbfs/RHAP01.wbfs

I'm sorry i didn't include all the details at release time, but it was very late

also, in next version of wbfs_file tool, I will add for each game one informative txt file named:
GAMEID_TITLE.txt

so that when you're viewing in windows explorer you can see quickly what files belong to which game.

That worked. I renamed everything to its original filenames and everything showed up. I also played some Ghost Squad and it worked flawlessly. Only issue is CIOS 249 is default even when i set it in the config.txt to use 223-mload. I manually put ghost squad to that for it to work.

quick edit here -

I just played 2 songs of beatles rock band from usb and it performed flawlessly. Amazing job guys, you've done what so many of us have been wanting for so long now. Finally not confined to a useless file system! Thanks for all the hard work.

The new FAT32 is excellent. I have a 320GB drive, and only a quarter of that is full. With FAT32 I can use the drive for other things, not just Wii games, such as storing moveis and music for use with Mplayer CE. Also I can now use FTPii to transfer files directly to the hard drive. And with FAT32, there are thousands of hard drive tools available to manipulate partitions etc etc.

I think it's a great step forward, and will free up our drives for uses other than just Wii games. And as things move forwards, I'm sure oggzee will tidy it up and make it a really useful and well polished feature.

Great work guys!

I think that either you edited the wrong config.txt file (check the global options screen to see which one it uses), or you previously saved settings for Ghost Squad with IOS249 selected.

Nope, the config.txt is the correct file, i even deleted it and made a all new one with your software, and everything was displayed properly change wise other then the 223-mload. In global options, it says 249. I should note that i am using a forwarder.

I just tried it directly from HBC and indeed, ios-223 is now the default. Weird. Is the link in the op the newest forwarder? The one im using is a older one. At least if someone else has the same issues, the resolution is here for them to read. Also, i just played a few rounds of Punchout and it again performed flawlessly. It takes a few seconds longer for the games to show up on the initial loader screen with the covers, but that is a tiny price to pay for such amazing functionality. Again, huge thanks to the cfg team, amazing work.

Oh yeah, one of the previous forwarders would force IOS249 if you do nothing at startup and force IOS222 by holding a certain button at startup. The newest version doesn't force anything when you don't push anything, so it will use the config.txt setting (although you can force any of the other important IOSes with certain button pushes).

Also, oggzee mentioned that the extra time for the games to show up is due to the calculation of free space on the drive, which is slow for FAT. In a future version, he'll experiment with not doing that search if you have hide_hddinfo on, which could save some time.

The time of scanning fat for the game list will be improved, there's a couple of things that need to be optimized...

Good work cfg team.

Someone can re-up wbfs_file tool please ?

My mistake, sorry.

[EDIT]
Feedback :

Tested with 2 USB Sticks and 1 HDD and CIOS222 then CIOS223.
It didn't work "No WBFS Partition found !You need to format a partition. Press any key to restart".
USB sticks were formated in FAT32. Game RSFE7U.wbfs in wbfs folder.
I must say that USB sticks worked when WBFS partitionned.

With HDD : primary partition (NTFS), secondary FAT32 active partition.
Same error.

Did you try pressing A on the first screen and then A again with the FAT partition selected?

oggzee cleared this up a couple of post back. said to ignore the message for now just go to mounting fat partition. said would be all cleared up in full release

Ok i think you'll get this if you're using simple = 1 or disable_format = 1
Will be fixed in future, for now, try without those options.
Let me know if this helps

are there going to be any other features in the full release version 46?

Probably not.

I'm not sure. We want to make certain there's no bugs in FAT loading before we add anything else in. There are some new features already coded but those might wait for v47.

I can envision how this'll work, and that will be great

Will I need to re-rip my titles from a wbfs drive to get the next version to create these text files, or will there be an option to run it on a directory of already processed .wbfs files? Reason I ask is because I only just got done transferring 280 games!

Yeah it was disable_format=1 fault !
Works great now, thanks.

I'll now try with a third USB stick that didn't work previously withs WBFS and report here.
