Hacking Configurable USB Loader

I really hope that I can disable the intro screen. Because in my system, I can not see it but get graphic noise instead.

Can you make a video?
I would prefer to fix the noise.
Anyone else with a noisy/corrupted intro screen?

I see the logo fine and get no noise when I launch the loader

Lol I did try this loader and yeah it worked well but there really ain't no difference between this and GX other than GX looks tons better on screen. As for the rest of the bollox, I knew someone would take the bait. Pmsl.

Not until someone figures out how to load GC isos. If that's ever done, we'll add it.

What are we talking about here? Launching GC games from DVD backup or from USB/WBFS or what? There are some GC backup launchers available already right? I'm not interested in GC games so i say not likely to happen at least not by me - unless usptactical bites the bullet

Me never trying GX I cant say yay or Nay, however I find that the Config Usb Loader is quite nice. I love the cover flow, and the backgrounds and themes can be changed ( you can even make your own like I did ). I find it to be just fine, after all you don't look at it to long before you press (A) and launch your favorite game to play. In the end I am happy as long as it works and does its job, id rather have function then style. Style is a dime a dozen and everyone has their own they like that others would not.

new function of USB LOADER GX
If you want to play Prime 1 of Metroid Prime Trilogy, you don't need to change rs5mp1_p.dol to R3ME01.dol .
Because USB LOADER GX will let you to select which one do you want to play.
ex:
Alternate DOL directory
subdirectory R3ME01 contain of rs5fe_p.dol, rs5fe_p1.dol, rs5fe_p2.dol, and rs5fe_p3.dol
If the Alt-dol is on, playing the game of Metroid Prime Trilogy will let you select R3ME01 directory which one of dol to play.
play Prime 1 of Metroid Prime Trilogy, just select rs5fe_p1.dol to run.
play Prime 2 of Metroid Prime Trilogy, just select rs5fe_p2.dol to run.
play Prime 3 of Metroid Prime Trilogy, just select rs5fe_p3.dol to run.

It's very good idea.
I hope Configurable USB Loader has this useful function.

You can already do that with Configurable and without having to extract anything to your SD card. Tell it to load alternate dols from disc and when you boot up the game you can choose the dol you want from the game image on your HDD.

I have try to play "The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return"
load alternate dols from disc
But it only found main.dol not found hot2.dol and hot3.dol
So I can't play The House of the Dead 2
If I select load alternate dols from SD
It display not found GAMEID.dol
If it support to load alternate dols from SD in gameID as directory,
then we can easy select any *.dol from the directory.

And it doesn't find alt.dols for HotD2&3?
It almost sounds impossible, you are the first to report such a problem, maybe you have a bad iso rip.
Does it work if you try it with neogamma?
How about any other game that requires to specify dol, do they work with this method?

well, depends on the gui style: grid, flow and flow-z gui styles can use flat or fake3d covers, while the other styles show true 3d covers and have the ability to show the back cover too. But why exactly do you want to disable that? The back cover is not visible unless you press dpad-up. I just want to understand what bothers you with the back cover?
Oh and about changing the intro screen - it's not gonna happen.

In my opinion CFG looks better than GX. CFG at least remembers that it's a USB Loader while GX wants to be everything at once. While some people might like that, I prefer the to-the-point presentation of this loader. And the not crashing a lot like GX did for me.

I agree, who wants to use scrollbars, OSK and listboxes with a wiimote anyway?

It's painful.
I've been testing cfg loader and usbloader gx recently, the latter doesn't stand the comparison in terms of stability and compatibility. Cfg loader is my reference for compatibility, if a game doesn't work with it no need to try with another one.
