Hi current GX user here, i was wondering if this loader supports NAND emulation for save games yet? There is a mod of neogamma that has this function(SD and USB) and its works well, my kids like the mysims games (they have large save files) and between them they buy a lot of crap games with their pocket money too. Thus my nand is getting very low on space and using an emulated nand would solve any out of space problems. The kids switch the games they r playing a lot so moving the saves back and forth from sd card will be a real pain in the ass.

I am asking here because there seems to be no response from the gx devs as to wether they are going to add or even considering adding this feature. In fact they dont really seem to be responding to much at the mo.....

Basically if Config loader has this function i WILL b swapping loaders!!!

Thanks

I know we have a GH5 thread, but there's so much talk in there about disc loaders and other USB Loaders, I'm wondering if any of you guys running CFG have been able to get GH5 to load. I've tried running 222 and 223 with and without the 02 fix. I followed the guide to installing everything from Dr. Clipper's link in his sig, and I'm pretty sure I installed rev 14 and not 13 but I'll go back and check.

Anyways, if anyone has it up and running could you let us other CFG'ers know your setup!

Thanks

No, it does not.

For some reason the loader does not want to save game settings, what do I do? Says there is an error with the SD card even though all the folders are there that I need I think
Are you sure you haven't accidentally flipped the lock switch on your SD card? Is there space? Is the settings.cfg file marked as read-only?

If none of those help, try copying everything off the card, formatting it and copying everything back.

Can you use IOS222/223 to play other games? Have you tried starting the loader with 222/223 or using the 222 version? Have you tried merging other IOSes when installing 222/223?

It should also be noted that recent Wiis can't use Hermes' IOS properly.

v41 bug report:

have MP3s in your USB-loader directory so music is playing
press '+' to install a game
press 'B' to abort the install
music dies and Wii freezes

there was something else.... oh yeah, I noticed that the cover artwork for 'Resident Evil 4' was different when switching from flow-z to cover mode (switches between the black and white trees with chainsaw man to a full colour artwork).

EDIT: not a Configurable USB Loader bug - I just checked on www.muntrue.nl and the source images are different for 3D cover / full cover versions. (the question begs to be asked - why?)

Because of user stupidity or laziness most likely. If you think that's bad, check the PAL full covers for Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and TV Party

Yeah, the GH5 thread is just an explosion of information (and mis-information). It works just fine here, providing you install Hermes cIOS 223 as 36 merged 37. I am using V3 of Hermes cIOS btw (the one that comes with uloader 2.8D)

Just make sure to press 1 on GH5 and change the setting for the game to use 223-mload and you'll be fine

And btw, before people start installing that newer IOS56 revision that came on the disc, do not bother. It does nothing as far as I can see. I even tested the DS battle mode (because there are some false rumors floating around that this IOS is needed for it) and it worked fine....all on my system *without* the IOS installed at all. Until a valid reason is found to install it, I would not recommend putting it on just yet.

If the cIOS rev14 cant detect the second layer when doing playback, I'm pretty sure it can't detect the second layer when ripping from the disc right?
Yes, you are right, DL support is broken in cIOS rev 14. Using rev 13 or cIOS 222/223 for ripping should work.

Hmm, I ripped my copy using cIOSrev14. Maybe that's why I can't get Metroid Prime 3 to work via USB even when loading from 222 or 223. I'll have to test this and see what happens.

It will take a while to rip (the Hermes' IOSes are slow at ripping), but it should solve the problem. I confirmed it myself with my Brawl installation last night. Installed using rev 14, Brawl crashes when watching the How to Play video no matter which IOS you use (rev 14 goes to green error screen, Hermes' IOSes just hang). I deleted and installed with one of IOS222/223 and the video plays just fine (except in rev 14 of course).

Some days ago I asked for the source of the Configurable USB Loader without any reaction. And so I ask again: Where can I find the sources of the loader?

It is not open source afaik.

the usb loader works great but my girlfriend wants to play boogie superstar with micro yesterday. the only port the micro works on is where the one the usb hd is plugged in. is that a general cios problem or a loader problem?

now it is only possible with her original disc in the slot. yeah we are getting lazy after we have not to run to the wii and change our games ;-)

It sounds like a Wii problem. You're saying the microphone only works in that slot even when playing from the disc, right? Does anything work in the other slot? Try using a USB keyboard in that slot in Opera or the Wii Message Board.

QUOTE(Wiimm @ Aug 31 2009, 04:00 PM) It is open source and comes with GPL2.
The last version of the source oggzee released publicly was for v33, I think. Have you tried sending a PM?

i have tried both ports with disc. they are working. then i tried it with usb loader and the 2nd port for the micro. working too?! maybe it wasn't plugged in correctly. she said it was plugged in correctly. then i said she maybe sung so bad that everything was red... since that time she's angry

only just started playing with this loader (as GX wasn't loading GH5 properly).

I like that there are plenty of 'flow' styles to choose from and themes but ... is there a way to 'lock' which flow style is used ? ie lock it so that the d-pad on the wiimote only moves around the games on the HDD and not through the themes/flows ?

Global Options (config.txt only)

I want to force one GUI mode so that I can't accidentally change it.

CODEgui_lock = 0,1

Setting this option disables the actions of the up/down D-pad buttons to change GUI mode.

Set 1 and you lock the flow style.

Thanks - I could have sworn I read all the links on that page.

Presumably I'll also need to use:

Code:
gui_style = grid, flow, flow-z, coverflow3d, coverflow2d, frontrow, vertical, carousel
gui_rows = 1, 2, 3, 4

unless I am happy with the default style.

Also, in certain styles doesn't up and down change the number of rows shown on the screen ? Does setting gui_lock disable this functionality ?

Yes, you need to set the gui_style to the type you want. If you want to use a flow mode, you also should choose your default number of rows. Also, gui_lock only locks the style, not the number of rows. In coverflow modes, D-up will still function to turn the boxes around too.
