ah ok.
thx for these infos

Btw , 512x340 is too small to get the best results , so even if 1024x680 is too big and useless , it will give better results than 512x340.
I won't resize the "already uploaded" covers , but i think my next uploads for coversHQ will be in 480 height max

thx again for your precious infos.
It will make me save some time in the upload process ^^

Hello,

I have a problem with USB Loader.

I can load 2 ISOs one after the other without reboot the WII.

When I want to play another game, I come back to the wii home and load another ISO with USB Loader ... and the ISO don't want to load, it stuck on step "load" (when I press the A button).

I have to reboot the Wii if I want to load another ISO and play again.

Have you ever had this problem? Do you think this problem is caused by my harddisk?

Thx for your reply !

IIRC this is a known issue with Wanikoko's cIOS rev 13. It'll probably be fixed eventually.

Hmm I kinda lost track of what Ioses I am using. Is there a way to tell what you have installed? I will try experimenting a little with it, now that you tell me that some people have it working with usb lan-dongles. I believe I have installed Hermes 202 and 203 or whatever they are called. I am using v35rc.
It tells you what IOS you are running on the update page. LAN adapters will only work if you are using a Hermes IOS or rev 12/13/13b (13 is the best). Look here to update if you need help.
I am almost positively sure that I use one of these. I will check when I get home from work. Thanks for the help. I hope it'll solve my problem.

Installing rev13 solved my problem. I was on rev10. Thanks

ok I don't understand that, can you please explain it to me? I want to save it to another folder other than usb-loader, is that possible? thanks
Sure. Just add "covers_path_3d = sd:/directory" to the end of your config.txt file and you can change the location of the 3d covers alone. If you set "covers_path = sd:/directory" you will set all the other covers_path variables at once (with the 3d path being a 3d subdirectory).

While we're at it, if you are doing this because you want compatibility with a loader that forces 6 character IDs (like GX), also add "download_id_len = 6".

oh ok I got it thanks,
actually the Cover Flow Loader uses the same usb-loader directory folder for the covers, so I wanted this loader to use a different directory folder, thanks again

auto updates?!?

is the top release the most current one?

what file contains the saved settings for individual games?

is there a channel (wad) for the current 35 release?

thanks

Any idea of when rev 14 will be released. It has been over a month since their last release. So many releases have come so fast and now nothing for a month. Anyone know anything?

cfg v35 (release)

http://sharebee.com/f058f2d1

(also available through online update)

Changes:

Code:
Changes (since 35 release candidate):

* Force video mode fixes
* Online update: progress indicator, fixed crash, compact display
* Reduced size of embedded graphics
* Minor cleanups

Changes (since 34 release):

* Integrated Coverflow Gui mode
ÂÂ - NOTE: This mode renders the game covers in true 3D so 2D (flat) cover images are needed.
ÂÂÂÂ If "fake" 3D/disk cover images are currently being used (in console or Grid mode), moving to Coverflow
ÂÂÂÂ will automatically switch to 2D covers and then switch back when leaving.
ÂÂ - To access Coverflow mode (from console mode) press B and then down several times.
ÂÂÂÂ Each subsequent Down button press will iterate through each coverflow style.
ÂÂ - Currently only 2D flat front covers are supported.ÂÂFull cover image (front, spine,
ÂÂÂÂ back) support will be added in a future release.

* Added all coverflow modes to gui_style option:
ÂÂ - coverflow3d coverflow2d frontrow vertical carousel

* Save global settings:
- theme
- device
- gui style and rows

* Load Alternative .dol from disc (from NeoGamma by WiiPower)
* Save selection of alt.dol from disc

* Online Update

* Fixed garbaged display when printing out a code dump

* Increase max favorites to 64

* Console game list optional marks:
ÂÂ console_mark_page = [0], 1
ÂÂ (mark with + on top/bottom of page if list continues)
ÂÂ console_mark_favorite = [0], 1
ÂÂ (mark with * in front of favorite game title)
ÂÂ console_mark_saved = [0], 1
ÂÂ (mark with # in after game title with saved settings)

* Fixed =+ with cover_url options

* Updated cover mirrors urls

* option: download_all_styles = [1], 0
ÂÂ Downloading all styles (flat,3d,disc) of covers, or just the current style

@Dr. Clipper

You are the man. Thank you for helping me. I realised I was using (rev10), so I installed (rev13) and everything was fine. At first it didn't work - listen to this - I tried to change usb ports and it worked. Before I HAD to use usb port X for the USB harddisk to work, with rev13 I HAVE to use port Y. I never knew why only one of them worked correctly before, and I am even more puzzled now when the other one works. Anyway - now it works and I am happy. I will never fully understand the IOS naming thingie - why 249 can be 36, 37 and 38 and stuff but hey - I'm happy.
Revisions before rev 12 were picky with USB ports and it was unknown which would work better. Since 12, it is well known that the drive must be in the port closer to the edge of the Wii. That is why you had to change ports.

Do you know what Iso works? Also i installed hermes 222 but i installed rev 13 after it does that overwrite it?
IOS, not ISO (they are completely different things). Waninkoko's IOSes install as IOS249, so you still have IOS222 there if you want to use it.

As stated, this is a well known rev 13 bug. There are several workarounds. If you want to continue using rev 13, then when switching games push the Home button and then choose "Reset" . It will take you back to the Wii Menu and you won't get the bug. If the game just restarts when you do that (Nintendo published titles will), hold the power button on the remote and it should also go back to the Wii Menu rather than actually switching off. Either way will allow you to start another game easily and it takes only a second or two longer than selecting the Wii Menu option from the Home screen.

The alternate workaround is to use one of Hermes' IOSes instead. You can get instructions for installation and use here.

The top release in the auto-update queue is most current. sd:/usb-loader/settings.cfg has the individual game settings, although you shouldn't need to change them there. Use Narolez' universal forwarder (linked in the op) if you want a channel. Full channels can't be auto-updated, so there is no longer any point to using them.

Well I am going to just say I love the progress on this loader and I can't wait for full cover support (front, spine, back)! Also you mentioned Ocarina TXT support at first I was like what is that? So I looked it up and realized how awesome Ocarina TXT is and if anything that'll be the next major feature I look forward to, :-)

Just to satisfy those curious ones among us, how does TXT differ from normal Ocarina?

i think he mean editing a .gct file by selecting the cheats u want on or off via the loader then resaving the .gct files with thos cheat enabled???

Ok, to quote the USB loader releases wiki, if I may, "Ocarina TXT: Cheats for Wii games (no GCT creation needed, and individual cheat activation/deactivation can be made from within USB loader)"

I think that basically means it's exactly how the gameshark would have worked from the N64 days. You have a list of cheats (the txt file) and the loader reads that file in a way that you can select which cheats you want to use.

Precisely the reason I have not updated the channel version. If there is an extreme need for it, I suppose I can whip it up with the latest release, but it is much more recommended at this point to use the forwarder and enable yourself to update easily.

I have a suggestion for the GUI mode: add a configure string limiting the styles available. I don't use it, but when I show off the loader, I would like to keep the impressive, fancy Apple-esque modes only.

...or leave them in and show off the great versatility of the loader.

Now your posts are fixed.

Exactly, if you really want an app as a channel, simply make a fowarder for it.

This is something I asked for when the grid was first introduced. Once I've decided on which GUI I want as standard, I'd prefer to be able to lock it and stick with just the one. There's only so many times I can accidentally press the down button when actually going for left or right before it start's to piss me off. Plus when the kids get on there and start hitting buttons for fun then it just gets chaotic
