love the new update feature and the coverflow options. saddly i had to go back to build 34 though. i'm getting a dsi error when i try to load games in 35a6. i'm not sure what's causing it but when i went back to build 34 it started working fine again.

All games or some games? Does it happen all the time? Which cIOS are you running? Which options do you have set?

Could you get us a screenshot or manually type the STACK DUMP section?

thanks!

all games in 35a6. i went through cios 38 rev10, 12, 13 and 13b before going back to the older version of the loader "34".

i took a pic with my iphone so it's not the best but the numbers are clear. here's the link.

stack dump error i think it starts to load cause the screen colors change. as you can tell, you can't see the stack dump section very well cause the color distortion toward the bottom. it does let me use the reset button on the wii. dunno if that helps you any.

It must have something to do with the coverflow implementation, as this is the EXACT type of error I had when beta testing. Although it was repaired in the next test. I haven't seen it since, so I do not know why you are getting it. Did you try to start fresh with NO covers on the SD? Maybe a corrupt cover is causing this crash? Maybe you can delete (or move to your pc) all of your current related usb-loader folders on the SD and completely start fresh and try it again. I really don't know...

I had the same issue. Sadly I made like 4 upgrades at once and redid all of the before I realized it was that.

Will add my setup to my sig if I can

Ahh my usb harddisk problem.
Config USB loader accepts my harddisk and everything is fine, but if I turn off my wii with my remote, turn it back on and starts Config USB loader again - the harddisk is not recognized. I am presented with the counter. It is as if the harddisk somehow thinks it is still in "the last session" (mind you it has been powered the whole time). I then have to pull the plug on the harddisk and turn off and on the wii to make it work again.
Is it possible to implement in Config USB loader a kind of "resync" with the harddisk feature, so I don't have to "get outta me couch" to unplug the usb harddisc in the described case?
I have a 1.5 TB Seagate Freeagent Desk

The loader can't do that.
The CIOS has to do that.
Did this help or not:

QUOTE(oggzee @ Jun 30 2009, 02:15 PM) You can try adding ios=222-mload to your config.txt, that will load the hermes's (uloader) ios, which might wake up the drive.
Thanks man, that was exactly what I needed!

I believe it DID HELP my then problem. My problem then was that only uLoader could wake up my drive or something. When my drive was awake I could go to system menu and start config usb loader and it would recognize my usb disc. By adding ios=222-mload I could go directly to config usb loader to make it recognize my drive. But still if I turn off and on the Wii (after the drive has been initialized) - I will have to pull the plug on the usb drive as well if I want to enter config usb loader again.

I have come up with a "hardware" solution for this. I use one of the usbports on the Wii for connecting to a "usb controlled power socket" (or whatever it is called). My USB drive's power source is connected to this socket, meaning that only when the Wii is turned on (and there is power in its usb ports), the usb power socket is active and the usb drive is turned on. This means that if I turn off the Wii, the harddisc is turned of as well, so now usb config loader finds the usb drive every time.

I'm using cIOS_r9, so the HDD needs to be on the upper USB slot, while the cIOS222/223_mload needs the HDD on the lower USB slot, so there is no way I can do this, without the cIOS_r12/r13, let me install one of those cIOS and I'll post results back...!!

Why to say that the cIOS_r9 needs HDD on the upper USB slot ? I use it in the lower one without trouble. Or I perhaps didn't understand something.

cfg v35a6 (alpha6)

* goddamn Online Updates for the comfortable people
moogle.gif

* minor fixes

Online Update gives you a list of releases to choose from, so down-grading is possible too.

oggzee,

after your comment of the "borrriiinng" update feature I would like to tell you how much it is appreciated you have done it anyway.
you rock !!

Cheers,
R

If anyone is getting the DSI error, see if you have GUI = Start set in your config file. if so, try changing if to GUI = 1. Also try removing theme = XXX if you have it set. You should then be able to launch games from the console rather than the GUI. this worked for me as a temporary fix. oggzee is aware.

If got a question: I`ve been useing this loader for a little but it doesn`t seem to save the browsing-option I chose last. For example I want to use the browsing-method, where the screen is tilting with the browsing but after going back it doesn`t tilt anymore. So I have to choose it again... Is there a way to save this manually in the settings or do I make something wrong?

And it would be great to incorporate the function to point at a cover to load it up, because in coverflow or 360-style only the cover in the centre of the screen can be selected, even though a pointer is available...

Otherwise a great loader. I`m loving it so far!

update go to the root of sd and NOT to sd:\apps\USBLoader

How are you launching the loader? HBC or forwarder? which forwarder?
Can you try both and check what it says is the apps dir in the online update screen - that is where the boot.dol will be saved.
Do you have the boot.dol on SD or USB?
Can you add: debug = 1 to your config, and let me know what is the value of argv[0] printed when initiazlizing.

You need to edit config.txt to add the line "gui=start" and "gui_style=grid,flow,flow-z" (only set one of the gui_style options). You can also set "gui_rows=1,2,3,4" to set the default number of rows. The coverflow options aren't configurable yet, but will be once the base implementation is debugged. usptactical already said he plans to look into selecting non-centred games in coverflow too once the other bugs are ironed out.

hi,

i use 3.2src atm. everytime i quit a game (with the menu button, back to wii menu) the screen goes black and the wii menu wont appear :-( the only thing i can do is turn of the console :-(

I do have a question.... I am using a channel on my Wii menu to go into the usb loader. now when I use the channel it loades into cfg33 which is what the forwarder is for but I do not get the update option. When I load through homebrew channel I do. Is there anyway to get the channel to load with the update option without going through the homebrew channel? The only reason I ask is because the wii is in my 6yr olds room and I want to make is as simple as possible for him to get to the loader. If not that is fine but If theres a way could someone let me know. I updated the boot.dol on the sd card using the autoupdate but it still loades into the cfg33.

Auto update will not work for channel versions.
Only for forwarders / HBC.

Ok, so how is the forwarder used then? Sorry just trying to get a better understanding of what Im doing. With the forwarder do you still need to go into the hbc? and If not how is it used. If you have a post already on this can you point me in the right direction.

Forwarder is a channel of it's own that loads the boot.dol from SD (or USB if the right forwarder is used).
So, you don't have to run HBC.
The difference between the full channel and the forwarder channel, is that with full channel the usb loader boot.dol resides in wii internal flash memory storage (nand), while the forwarder loads that boot.dol from sd card.
Here is more info about forwarders in general:

You are awesome!!!! One more thing do you have the link to your latest forwarder channel? I think this is the route I want to go. And once again Thanxs for all your help.
