I can confirm its not a brick and instead the cleanest usb loader forwarder.

Can you add some more info, or is it perhaps in the package? I haven't got the time to check it yet.

This is what is important for every forwarder channel:
- ID
- type: SD or USB?
- boot.dol path

Typical example:
- ID: USBL
- type: SD
- boot.dol path: sd:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol

@oggzee

Sorry to bother... but...

Is it possible to modify your dol so that it can be used by Yaulct or Loadstructor to make game channels ? Especially, with the options to run game with IOS223 Hermes and Ocarina on.

Thanks a LOT !

35a new alt .dol method working fine for me with MK:A.

oggzee, it should be possible to modify the new alt.dol method to choose the alternate .dol without loading so that we can then save it to the options with the game, right? That would make this feature absolutely perfect.

Thanks to WiiPower for creating it and you for adding it so quickly.

I've seen this request before. I'll look into it when I get some time... ok, added to the todo list

For the curious, here is what's in plan:
  • integrate coverflow
  • integrate wiitdb
  • save disc alt.dol selection
  • mark favorites and save state in console game list
  • save selected theme, device
  • multiple wbfs partitions
  • ocarina TXT
  • optional download_all_style
  • make it suitable for Yaulct or Loadstructor
I don't know in what order though.

Yes, I was planning to do that as well, just didn't have time to do it all at once

Nice work as usual oggzee! Tested Red Steel with the new dol fix and it works perfectly. I did notice if you leave RS on the title screen the game will try to load the main.dol and will reset the Wii (so dont screw around and press the A button within 30 seconds lol)

Actually this gives me an idea. How about a possibility to add notes to every game. If I for instance install Red Steel and finds out what 'ThE MaSTeR 3' just did, I probably can't remember it in 2½ years time when I probably have time to play it. It could be done by entering text in the config string, but alternatively it could be done directly in the application itself through a connected usb keyboard?

Another thing - I still think we need a way to erase "failed installs". (or at least someone please tell me).

Another other thing - sometimes the installation starts to slow down. Is it still installing? If I eject the application is still "thinks" it is installing and the percent counter continues all the way. Could an error message be implemented?

Keep up the good work. It is awesome already.

integrate coverflow? What does that mean?

I think you have crushed the bug. Out of pure curiosity, what was the issue originally? Still, I'll continue to run it and beat it around abit and let you know if an issue arises!

Great thanks for testing it! Basically I was trying to draw something that wasn't in memory yet and it didn't like it. Ultimately, it came down to moving 1 line of code, although this gave me an excuse to add improved memory management.

Interestingly, I didn't discover this right away because it seemed to be working correctly when I used wiiload to load the dol from my pc - which I always do. It didn't crash until I physically ftpii'd the dol to my SD card.

I tested it. Looks nice but I think I like that generic flat coverview better. Since this 3rd option is being added to future versions of Config USB Loader does this mean I will need to press B a extra time to navagaite the menus

I like how its currently setup so I can go back and fourth between the covers and the serious business list view.

EDIT: *light bulb turns on* Unless integrate coverflow means they will both be on the same menu!

Your light bulb is correct.

I didnt make it but IMO its the best. Its a perfect replica of the disc channel but for usb loaders. This forwarder looks great side by side with the disc channel!

The one I included is a slightly modified version of the 1 in the video.

is this a forwarder for cfg or GX cause the vid is showing GX loading using that forwarder

Is there a way to only download the flat covers like before? I am on widescreen and it's downloading all covers...

here are my settings...

cover_style = standard
download_id_len = 6

#flat
cover_url = http://boxart.rowdyruff.net/flat/{ID}.png
cover_url =+ http://wiicover.gateflorida.com/flat/{ID}.png
cover_url =+ http://awiibit.com/BoxArt160x224/{ID}.png

#3d
#cover_url_3d = http://boxart.rowdyruff.net/3d/{ID}.png
#cover_url_3d =+ http://wiicover.gateflorida.com/3d/{ID}.png
#cover_url_3d =+ http://awiibit.com/3dBoxArt176x248/{ID}.png

#disc
#cover_url_disc = http://boxart.rowdyruff.net/disc/{ID}.png
#cover_url_disc =+ http://wiicover.gateflorida.com/disc/{ID}.png
#cover_url_disc =+ http://awiibit.com/WiiDiscArt/{ID}.png

Since the 3d and disc entries are commented out, it means it is still using the default set of urls for those covers.
Try this:

cover_url_3d =
cover_url_disc =

That is, empty values. I can't try it now, but if it doesn't work, then try this instead:

cover_url_3d = 0
cover_url_disc = 0

In the next version I'll add an option to download all or just the current style.

Hello...can someone tell me how to get music to play when the loader starts up. I found some other posts that said drop a mp3 file in the usb-loader on the root, but I had no luck with that. I looked in the config file but I didn't find anything relating to music. I appreciate any help that I can get.
Thanks....Randy

put a line in your config file

music = filename.mp3

with filename being the name of your music of course

Dochog....thanks for getting back to me. I tried that before and checked it again...but still can't get the thing to work. This is what my config file looks like: I have music towards the bottom. I also have the music file named music.mp3 and saved in usb-loader on the root. This is the config file from usb-loader on the root as well. Let me know what you think...Thanks Again!

# music
music = music.mp3

Some mp3's are not recognized, especially those that have embedded cover images in the id3 tag.
you can also try adding:

debug = 1

It will print out where it is looking for the mp3 file and report error/success at loading it.

after entering the debug...I get Music: Enabled
Music file: sd:/usb-loader/music.mp3
File not found! sd:/usb-loader/music.mp3

Do I need to make a music folder in: usb-loader and put the music file in there??? I have tried two different mp3...I must be missing something. THanks
