Is there any way to 'lock' the GUI mode? I have set the default view and would prefer it if I could have this retained. Fat fingers have me flipping things around before I know what's happened and then I have to scroll through the options to get it back - and then fook it up again 15 seconds later

Oh, and as everybody else has already said - great work. It's certainly benefiting from having a smaller number of people involved in making the changes.

There isn't a way to do that at the moment. In version 31 if you switched the mode to console and back to gui the gui style and rows would be reset, but now with 31c the style and rows are kept, I thought that would be the preferred behaviour

Wait, are you talking about different gui styles and rows, or console vs gui mode?

I have set the default view to a three-row flow and then would like to be able to lock it at that so that my ham-fisted thumb clicks don't alter it to two row grid style etc.

I just had to register here to say wow, what a work. I'm so impressed by all the work here. I want a Wii myself after seeing this. It's time to save some money for this.

I have a question though, I heard the biggest partition is limited to 512 GB. And I don't know if it's the console, the filesystem etc. Anyway, Hermes USB-loader have support for multiple WBFS, but is it still limited to 512 GB in total so you can have 2x256 or 1x512 or can you have 1x512+1x256 and the rest to FAT for example. I don't know how much FAT need, but not much as 100+ GB. Not more then 5-10 GB is my guess. Unfortunately the whole thread about Hermes loader seems to be in Spanish.

I discovered this yesterday and I appreciate all the effort people doing here. And open source makes it even better. And I like the options too. Boring old style, just a plain list or "compizfusion-style" where you scroll and see the covers. It's so lovely.

Hi i've been using this loader and love it. and i'm goning to mod my friends for him as well and want to be able to install this loader as a channel so then he doesnt need an SD card just USB HDD since cover art and config.txt can go on there then if dol is loaded via channel BAM no SD needed and still all the features of it. But i can only find forwarders. Could someone point me in the right direction for making my own wads or a link to a wad already created with this app embedded in it.

Thanks a lot

There is no Limit to partition size for WBS anymore.

Yeah! I´m looking for a full channel WAD too... I don´t use a SD card anymore, now that HBC can load apps from USB, and configurable USB loader can load configs and covers from USB. The forwarder won´t work with apps on USB... And I really don´t like forwarders...

Unfortunately, there is no channel / wad made for this loader

I never played with channel creation...
Personally I would prefer a forwarder that was able to load from USB instead of SD.

Yeah... A forwarder that can load from USB would do the trick... Is there any forwarder that can load from USB for this loader? Thanks!

well tonite i tried to play ssbb and metroid prime, mario galaxy and other and none would start with the latest build. Im using cios rev 13b with hbc103. can get both to work with Cover Flow USB ISO Loader by Beardface....strange but true. thought i would be able to use just one loader but seems its not just a gui issue...any ideas why this one wont load em?? Thanks

Mario galaxy works for me. I don't have the other 2 to test.
But I suspect you've hit the now well known rev13 bug:

QUOTE(oggzee @ Jun 3 2009, 12:59 AM) If you start a game and then go back to system menu via the home button and try to start some other game with the usb loader it will hang, I have tried this also with the original waninkoko usb loader and has the same issue. The wii console has to be powered off and turned on again to be able to run a different game. So it seems to me a problem with cios 249 rev13, or maybe there is some other new fix required for this to work properly...

Basically with cios 249 rev13 you have to turn off and turn on the wii console each time you want to start a new game.
Can you try this and let me know if that is the case?

sorry dude i just downgraded to rev 9 again and all works fine now.....gonna go to bed now but will upgrade again in the next few days and see if your right......

Does anyone here knows how to make a Full channel for this, or how to make a forwarder that loads from USB drive?

You use a program called WADder, which is fairly well developed. You really need brick protection before making your own, so request that someone make one for you in their request forum (wadder dot net).

quick question, will this write to a 1 tetrabyte drive? is there no limit to the size it will read and write to?

Well, just 7 posts above yours says, "There is no Limit to partition size for WBS anymore." Now I know the answer to the question, "Which Wahlberg reads the least?"

I did it! I used the program WAD Channels Updater with the USB loader GX full channel v448 and changed the .dol file to the configurable USB Loader one.

Now I have a Full channel for the configurable USB loader, and I can run everything from USB hard drive!

Don´t think I can post a link for the channel, since I modified a channel that is not mine.

My drive now will not reinitialize when powering up the Wii, so I have to power the drive off/on for the loader to find it, even though I hear it spin down when the Wii goes off. I tried downgrading from cIOS38 rev13c back to cIOS36 rev10, but still the same issue. It happens with the latest GX loader too now. I only noticed it after the rev13c update, and it definitely wasn't always there. Anyone else still having this problem (someone posted a similar problem a few pages back)? It's quite annoying, since the power switch is at the back of the drive inside a cabinet.
