NEW: cfg v23:

http://sharebee.com/96dff67b

Changes:

- Game compatibility fixes:
- Fixed harvest moon & nunchuck problem
- Added video mode: VIDTV
(It was previously enabled by default, but is not compatible with all games
so it is now a separate mode. Select it in game options / video mode.
Required for Japanese and maybe some other games)
- Fixed network problems in games when downloading covers from loader.
- Restart music if it was stopped by usb device retry on failure

All WD external hard drives will spin down (enter into power saver mode) after 10 minutes of drive inactivity. Once the drive is accessed again, the drive will exit from the power saver mode and spin back up.
It is the problem of many disks. As many people say that WD disks work well with the wii, I assume that some can wake up speeder than others. There is no way to remove this saver mode for most of WD HDD on USB. It is possible only if your disk is SATA.
I consider more Seagate or Maxtor for which a software is usable to set the saver mode delay.
And to simulate an activity, I don't know ... When the game is running, does the loader application still active to do this ?

When the Game is started the loader is gone, so if the harddrive goes into sleep/inactive mode during gameplay *crash*

Do Solid State Drives (SSD) have a "sleep mode" ? (I know they are expensive as hell, but just wondering)

so all the problems was because of vidtv patch?

many thanks for fixing it, and i confirm this version works great with harvest moon

again, thank you so much

The border of the new 3D coverart is in transparent when we view it using PC.
But in Wii, it's black.
config.txt already set: console_transparent = 1

is there a Spindown Fix build in this loader?
My Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB USB external hard drive seems to be automatically spinning itself down after a period of inactivity, and causing the
USB loader to become unresponsive.

No, there's no such fix in this loader.
Is there any other loader that has such a fix?
If so, I could integrate it here.
You can use a modded IOS222 (cIOS USB2) for fixing this issue while playing games. I will try to include it in the cfg 23 for testing.

hi,

got an other question.
somehow the covers wont display with cfg21...

this is what i did:
first downloaded cfg12 (the old one) and replaced the boot.dol with the cfg15 boot.dol to add force pal etc options.
this works like a charm with the folowing settings:

ROOT SD:
usb-loader
-covers with all my "normal" covers 160x225
-config.txt
background = ultimate7.png
layout = ultimate3
buttons = options_B
covers = 1
hide_footer = 1

-all the background images

APPS FOLDER:
USBLoader
-boot.dol
-config.txt
background = ultimate7.png
layout = ultimate3
buttons = options_B
covers = 1
hide_footer = 1
--------------

BUT when i install the full cfg21 (new one) package and edit both config.txt files, the covers wont show.. :-(
what am i doing wrong and why are there 2 config.txt files? do i have to change them both?
thanx!

Are you perhaps using widescreen mode? (hmm, have i asked this already?)
Because if so, it will look for ID_wide.png covers which are 130x225
by default widescreen is autodetected. you can force it with widescreen = 1 or disable it with 0
Also, can try to download them from inside the loader, and let me know if it works..

About multiple configs:
The config.txt in sd:/usb-loader/ is always read. then, if started from homebrew channel also apps/usbloader/config.txt is read.
If started from a forwarder apps/usbloader/config.txt is not used.
This is so that you can have multiple configurations depending on how you launch it.
So you can set it up that if started from forwarder it will be child proof, while if launched from homebrew channel it will have full administration permissions. This is just an example, i guess other uses can be found too...

Ok, cool, tnx.
I guess we have to add an option IOS=[249], 222

Transparency in PNGs is not supported yet. I'll add that soon.
A few days ago the 3d covers had a fixed white background, so it worked back then...

And of course maybe even more options in tv_4x3.cfg, tv_16x9.cfg from the complete list, making it almost as a "theme", that way its also easier for "theme-makers" to make sure correct settings are used with the background pictures etc etc.

I think a theme should include both normal and widescreen background, that is why there are 2 sets of options for background, console and covers, so that a theme could be defined with a single config file.
But I might add the ability to include other config files. I'm thinking something like:
include = myconfig.txt

And about autoresizing, i guess i'll add that too, someday.

I was wondering if anyone had a channel for v23, i tried to inject a wad with the dol and i just black screen (used wadder) . i dont need a forwarder, just the app as a wad. Great program by the way, keep up the good work

At the moment, i don't get it to work. I'm fighting with dumps and more.

Ye, Sounds really cool.

NEW: cfg v24:

http://sharebee.com/645cc418

Changes:

- Support transparent PNG for covers (used by 3d and disc covers)
- Changed builtin background and nocover images to match the default provided inSDroot.
- Changed default layout to large3 (to match builtin background)

I can't get console_transparent to work with ver 24.
Also where can we get the background from the transparent example?

I did not spent any time for this issue. With cIOS rev 11 it will be fixed. I'm testing the rev 11 beta at the moment ...
