I wrote for some guy how to extract the banner file from a disc. Maybe somebody wants to play with it:
Please note that this "fstfilename" is not identical with the one in the alternative .dol loading from disc.

Nice job, but I guess implementing the actual banner player is gonna be the difficult part

I haven't checked yet, but is the banner format documented anywhere?

There's some banner creator tool, so i guess you can take parts from there.

Sorry for the noobish question, but how do I install the latest alpha version? I have version 33 now, and that download was a .zip. The latest version is just a .dol. Should I just copy this and overwrite the boot.dol from the version 33? Or should I first update to version 34? Thanks in advance for helping me out

CIOS Question.

I plan on upgrading to Rev 13 this weekend. If for some reason I have issues or don't like it (don't think I will), do I have to do anything special to drop back to Rev 12 or 10? Do I just run the installer for what ever version I want or do I need to run some other program first before I downgrade or a program to uninstall Rev13.

Thanks

Doesn't really belong in this thread, but yeah, install a newer or older version right over the version you currently have installed (ie: 10 over 13...12 over 13...etc etc)

Does all of this means that a tool that can make/pack .wad channels for USB games, from the USB, with the game banner is possible..??

I guess he feels comfortable asking this here

I think is to extract the animation (as seen in the disc channel when we have the game disc inside the wii) of the game and show it up in the loader gui?
If this can be done, there's no need of cover images anymore.......

Cover images are nice and should be kept.

Don't worry. oggzee has made it clear several times that no feature of the loader will ever disappear (unless it becomes completely obsolete). Covers will always be an option.

Banner playing (from disc) would certainly be a landmark development. Hope it isn't too difficult to implement

I copied the PAL version (1,99 GB) of Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbados' Treasure on my USB stick. When selecting it, I get all the options and it recognizes it. But when booting the game, I get a black screen. Nothing more.
I deleted it from my USB Stick and reinstalled the game, but still no luck.
All my other games work flawlessly, so I really don't get the point. Hopefully one of you smart people here can help me.

Does it work with the NeoGammaR6 loader?

Sorry for once again a noob question, but I don't know how to do this. I first thought of this as an other USB Loader, but it didn't show up in the USB Loader Releases Wiki page. Is it another loader? Or is it option in the options menu of your USB loader to load the game in an other way? Could someone please help this noob

NeoGamma Thread, Loader for SD/SDHC/USB/DVD/decrypted DVD
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=158884

I put it on my SD card, started NeoGamma R6 through the HomeBrewChannel. Mounted the USB channel, started the game. But still no change. I didn't do anything in the settings. Just started it with the initial settings.
Any other idea what it could be? In the compatibility thread, people do get it working.

For those wanting to use the new cover site, www.muntrue.nl, here's the config.txt additions. The site works with both main 3D resolutions of images if you're like me and hate rescaling. Just set the covers_size and covers_coords variables if you are using the larger versions (which it appears are the native 3D image size of the site).

Code:
cover_url =+ http://www.muntrue.nl/covers/ALL/{WIDTH}/{HEIGHT}/boxart/{ID6}.png
cover_url_3d =+ http://www.muntrue.nl/covers/ALL/{WIDTH}/{HEIGHT}/3D/{ID6}.png
cover_url_disc =+ http://www.muntrue.nl/covers/ALL/{WIDTH}/{HEIGHT}/disc/{ID6}.png

The site also has full covers for Coverflow.

Since the game Z&W does work with the Configurable USB Loader, trying it with NeoGamma will verify wether you have a working iso copy or not. If it doesn't work in NG, then you need to get a new Z&W iso or USB device. If you don't know how to use NG, ask in that thread.

Has anyone else problems with these cover servers? I get "File not found" on each of these:
I am using the last official "Channel" version and have only entered one of each (without the +). The entries are entered as the last of the config file. I've tried these mentioned earlier in this thread:
