thanks for the reply, i wasnt even aware of that config option, where is some complete documentationof the 'new' variables, i know the sites ive been referencing are out of date, and i cant update/use the configurator since im on linux.

also, what is a good alternative site to gametdb for covers? i could use that url for 'hq' covers as a failsafe.

There really aren't any decent alternatives to gametdb. You can always add other regions though. That way you could download a PAL HQ cover if a NTSC-U one isn't available. Check the above link for instructions.

can you list both Wii and GameCube games now? if so.. how?

Yes! You can use both GameCube and Wii games.

How? First, you need to update CFG USB Loader to the newest version, if you have an old version this might be difficult because on very old versions the online update feature is broken.

So, first manually update CFG USB Loader, then once you have done that go to update and update CFG USB Loader to r45/r46 using the inbuilt updater - This will require your Wii to have an internet connection (I recommend r45, it seemed most stable to me).

Fat 32 is required for GameCube games and is recommended as a hard drive format, it is most supported by homebrew.

Make sure your hard drive is formatted at Fat 32, if it is not, I recommend you use http://www.mediafire.com/?ncoez2o4z56lxjm Caution: Formatting a Hard drive will make it lose all files on it, remember to make a backup of any games to your computer first!

Now, put the games back on to your hard drive using http://gbatemp.net/topic/188295-wii-backup-manager-for-windows/ - This will do everything you need and is recommended for all games, unfortunately it does not load GameCube games yet, but there are other methods of installing GameCube games.

Plug your hard drive in and start it up, wait a few seconds then start up your Wii. Now open CFG USB Loader, it should start up and have a list of games!

Hello,

I'm currently on version 70r46, I hadn't updated in quite some time.
I see there are some new launch options when loading a GameCube game, for instance.

Could someone please explain how Wide Screen works?
And what PAD HOOK is, I don't remember seeing this in the previous version I was using.

I'd like to congratulate the whole Configurable USB Loader team, the work they did is amazing.

Pad hook is for DIOS MIOS and is a "hook" that lets you reboot the wii, or power it off (depending on button combination.)

Widescreen is a patch to let you "see more on the screen" than was intended, this sometime can come with strange effects (textures not loaded b/c more on screen until you step into intended range, etc..) The Wii and Gamecube both have resolutions of 720x576 for PAL and 720x480 for NTSC (whether 4:3 or 16x9.) So when you load this hack on the games that work with it, you still have the same resolution, you just can see more (many look better in my opinion such as most of the mario games - even on Tennis its easier to play and Mario/Luigi look like they been on Slimfast.. Worth trying, I think it adds so much more to the games and I wish this option could work on ALL of them (probably could never happen.) There is something similar on the PS2 and I think the author of it got the idea from this.

If you want to figure more o it out, I am sure a search with the specified questions via your favorite search engine will have better explanations and results. Just know at this point, these options are primarily for DIOS MIOS and not the other "emulator/players."

That's amazing, I didn't expect to see a widescreen hack for NGC games. Pad hook is definitely a great feature too.
Thanks a lot for the reply, thevoiceover.

-fixed memory allocation when reading files from NAND (this caused the cover problem)
-increased max number of mem allocations in mem1/mem2 heaps (thanks oggzee)
-changed GC game detection (now much faster)

BUG!: When using the "old gui" and when your at the screen where you can update/download covers etc you can not see all the options because now there is to much cios/mios information. You see what I mean if you try to reproduce the steps.

@stsaerox: for savegame emulation just enable the feature in the game options. the folder usb:/nand will be created.
If you want a full nand emulation you must dump your NAND to usb:/nand (Simple FS Dumper).

Does the dump save game feature dump the save game from the original nand to the usb drive?

I tried it out just now with updating to r48 but it failed for me saying the directory wasn't correct.

I'm assuming that the emulated nand path needs to be created first before using this feature.

Can you make it so CFG makes the directory?
