How did you disable the patch in config? Through your SD card?

Also, one thing I believe has been confirmed is you don't need any .wip files anymore. The updated .cfg file is all thats needed as the lines of code to patch are already there.

the user was still trying to use a .wip, check edited post for more details

No I understand that. I'm confused how to apply the patch to POP with the newest version.

To elaborate, I've updated Config. USB Loader to the latest edition. When I try to run POP however I don't even get the remote warning screen. Am I missing a step after I updated to the latest version?

To elaborate even further I'm referring to these:

cfg v57b4 (beta4)
Patch for Prince of Persia
new option: disable_pop_patch = [0], 1
new option: disable_dvd_patch = [0], 1

Where can I find those lines of code? Are they turned on automatically?

I wonder if the success or failure is related to the version of PoP? I am using the RPWZ version and the latest Cfg 57b4 doesn't work for me on cIOS rev9 - whereas people with the SPXP version are getting success.

OK, here's the deal. The following should work:

1: Make sure you don't have a .wip patch in the directory as that will screw things up.
2: Have video at Game Default
3: Turn off all of: Language, Video Patch, Country Fix, Alt Dol, Ocarina, VIDTV, Anti 002, Block IOS Reload
4: If you are using IOS222, add disable_dvd_patch=1 to config.txt.
5: Do not use return_to_channel option
6: You must be using v57b4 of Cfg
7: wiird must also be off

There is a possibility the game will also have to be from your region, but it probably works fine with the imports still.

correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure both patches should be enabled by default (ie. disable patch options both = 0 by default)... so u should only need to add the following line of to your config.txt IF you are using a hermes cIOS (it should be able to be turned on or off with wanin's cios's and it shouldn't make a difference.). Eventually i'm sure the configurator will be updated to make this even easier with its gui interface.

disable_dvd_patch = 1

edit: dr clippers explanation above is better

Now I have a Q of my own... does anyone know if a PoP ISO with the main.dol already patched will still work with the configurable pop patch enabled and/or disabled? I think it would work in either case, but I'm just wondering if someone can confirm that.

I tried disabling the PoP patch in config and using the .wip file and i got the same results. black screen after the copy write window. It would seem like that if it's working on others it has to be an ios problem. Maybe some of my ios's are outdated?

QUOTE(Dr. Clipper @ May 20 2010, 02:17 PM) OK, with the help of WiiPower, I have discovered why the wip patching wasn't working properly in Cfg (I was trusting that oggzee left the wip patch in working order, but it turns out it's been broken for months). The first wip patch (reposted a few posts above this one) is indeed the correct one.

The wip code will be fixed by the release version of Cfg v57, but it needs some testing first. The PoP patch will stay regardless, though.

How does this help me? you didn't explain anything. what am i supposed to be using? the built in patch in 57b4 or disable the patch and use the .wip file? I DO read every single post and tried every combination i could to get it to work with the exception of using rev9.

Thanks Dr Clipper. It was the return to channel option that was making it not work.

too bad, I loved return_to_channel

but hey, it is indeed working now! thanks so much

I did in a previous post, you tried using .wip patches and i explained they didnt work in CFG because wip patching was broken

the built in patch as explain several times and then in detail by Dr Clipper

well you must of missed a few then lol

Hi Dr

I've been looking at the NSMB .wip files and some others and they have a colon after the address, e.g.

007AAC6A: 7A6B6F6A 6F6A7A6B

rather than

007AAC6A 7A6B6F6A 6F6A7A6B

Maybe either is valid?

Figured worth checking while you're looking at fixing the wip code.

thanks for cfg btw, only loader I use.

im in the same boat. could somebody please tell us how to turn on the patch....

EDIT: i waited a few seconds on the black screen and the title screen backed popped up. I thought it would go right to it after the logos but i was wrong. Played for a few minutes and no freezes (even when bringing up the home menu). Sorry about that.

Having problems saving my game options. I need to change my IOS to 222 in the game options for it to load on my NTFS partition, however when I then press 2 to save options I get the error message:

"Error: sd:/usb loader is not accessible
error saving options!"

check your SD lock is off and the usb-loader folder isnt write protected

Hm.. I don't even have USB-loader folder in SD root.

Also, is that where I can put my config.txt? I want to put config.txt there because I put the following:

# ios = 222-mload

So I don't have to keep changing the ios for every game.

thats where CFG save its config files, unless you have it set up entirely on HDD

yes, the config.txt also resides there

u can easily modify your config.txt using the configurator for configurable usb loader

instead of adding # ios = 222-mload to your config.txt to have it default to 222, you can just download the configurable 222.dol (each release of configurable has 2 versions, one that auto loads 222, and the other which autoloads 249)
