When I try to download large files, the download cuts out. :/

I have tried to download the file with every web browser.

Tried it on Mac, then Windows. No difference.

Computer Specs:
Model Name: iMac
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
Memory: 4 GB

It could be that your connection is constantly dropping and you only notice on big files as they don't resume so easily.

Have you spoken to your ISP?

Are you sure it isn't just the site you are using? Try getting an iso from microsoft.com or a Linux distro as a test.

If it is happening on various sites:
Try a different network cable. Also try connecting directly to the modem if you are going through a router. If it still is flaky then trying a different network card would be in order. The last thing to try would be a new modem but that could be costly and require a MAC change from your ISP.

I only have 1gb of Peak to live off for 5 MORE DAYS.

WTF. 2K posts... HOW!?

On Topic: Go direct. And not wireless? But looks like you covered that... If the downloads cancel or just break, use a download manager like FlashGet or JDownloader.

Quit whining about post counts and go up yours in the EOF or something.

Yay +1 for me on frivolous posts...

Your humor is so good.

it's the modem or the connection. The router has nothing to do unless you have the generic ones.

Im using a D-Link 524 and it's the best one I have. My modem is loosing connection and trying to re-connect. it's so annoying if you have something very important to type and suddenly your connection stops for a bit. you will be pissed off if it will totally disconnects you and you need to turn off and on your modem.

that's my situation here

My old router was a D-Link, I don't know the model.
